Hearty Jalapeno Poppers
Ok I have to share this with everyone! I made this for dinner tonight (could be a snack but they are filling) and they were absolutely delicious!!
1 popper = 32 calories, 2g of fat, 11mg cholesterol, 78mg sodium, 1g carbs, trace amounts of fiber and 4g of protein
ENJOY!
12 jalapeno peppers
1/2 pound lean ground turkey
1/4 cup finely chopped onion
4 ounces of fat-free cream cheese
1-1/3 cups shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese
1 teaspoon chili powder
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1. Cut jalapenos lengthwise, leaving stems intact; discard seeds. Set aside. In a small non-stick skillet, over medium heat, cook turkey and onion until meat is no longer pink; drain.
2. In a small bowl, combine the cream cheese, 1/3 cup of mozzarella, chili powder, garlic powder, cumin, salt, and pepper. Stir in cooked turkey mixture. Spoon generously into the pepper halves.
3. Place the peppers onto a greased baking sheet; top with remaining mozzarella. Bake uncovered at 350 degrees. Bake for 20 minutes for a spicy flavor, 30 for medium and 40 for mild.
EAT UP!!

+1 for yummy and will be trying soon. I used to buy the poppers at a local convenience store, but I don't think they were probably very low in calories. (Loved them though) So thanks for sharing.0
