Weight training vs Cardio

When I log my cardio times and activities I notice that it adds to my number of calories per day being available. However, why doesn't weight training have any impact on the number of calories used? I usually spend 45 minutes in the gym. Approx 20 minutes on the treadmill and 25 minutes on weights.
