I'm in desperate need of some new tunes to add to my playlists. I'm a huge music junkie and can appreciate everything from The Beatles to Slayer. I really dig the dark rap that gets my blood flowing the more vulgar and obscene the better. Sometimes I like some rap just for the beat as well. I also got a few kick-*kitten* tracks from AAron Bradley, from his Music For Muscles albulm, it really helps me focus on my lifts. Basically anything that pises me off and makes me wanna break stuff is good :explode: Although I've been on a huge rap kick lately as far as music for listening to while I lift, but what I've got is kinda getting old. Even if your taste is totally different I still wanna see what you guys are into for getting your energy up.
Also curious about what mellows you out and just makes you wanna sit back and chill. I use music as a get away and anytime I'm stressed out I got some songs that never fail to take the edge off.
What my current lifting playlist looks like:
Tech 9- Blacken the sun
ASAP - Rocky Problems
Eminem- Till I collapse (this song will never fail getting me motivated)
Chevelle - Forfeit (what better then a song about fighting)
Three six Mafia - It's a fight
CKY - 96 Quite Bitter Beings
Chief Kief - Kobe and Hate Being Sober
Drowning Pool - Bodies
Eminem - Music Box
Immortal Technique - Internally Bleeding and Cause of Death
Rage Against the Machine - Killing in the Name of
Marlyn Manson - The Dope Show and This is The New Sh!!T
Trapt - Head Strong
Thousand Food Krutch - Move
Mellow Mood Music Playlist:
Jack Johnson : Anything really especially: Go On, Fortunate Fool, Rhodeo Clowns, Do You Remember, and Constellations
Tom Rhodes: Breathe* ( I love this song so much, instantly purges any anxiety I have, please check it out) Mental Hygiene, Four Bare Walls
Bob Marley: Mellow Mood, Three Little Bird, This is Love
Dave Matthews Band: Grace is Gone, Big Eyed Fish, Ants Marching, Dancing Nancies, Crash Into Me, Satellite, and The Space Between
Ben Harper and Jack Johnson: With My Own Two Hands (gives me a little faith in humanity)
Ben Harper: Steal My Kisses and Burn One Down :smokin: :smokin:
Dirty Heads: Viva La Vida, Stand Tall, Chelsea, and Everything I'm Looking For ( Some of the BEST feelgood music ever)
Blink 182: Miss You
Mystic Roots: Pass the Marijuana, Living in a Constant Struggle
Incubus: Aqueous Transmission ( Sooo peaceful)
Eric Clapton: Tears in Heaven
I could go on for ever but you get the idea....Lets here it ladies and gents

Any specifics Paul? I'll actually check it out cuz I really do need some new tunes. Only thing I've ever really listened to blues wise is when John Mayer put a little bluesey spin on his trio albulm and it sounded awesome I loved the focus on the guitar and the energy he had...it was incredible and I'm not much of a John Mayer fan either0

Good call on the Chilli Peppers I love those guys, there's a few of there's that could go in either one in my opinion. Also on the technoey stuff like Prodigy and Fat Boy Slim, but you forgot to mention the song Smack My B!!tch Up, that song gets f*ing rowdy!0 -
Khia - My Neck My Back (Lick It) Listen this one then. You will love it.0

Well Josh, for rock I like most of the old school heavy stuff, Motorhead, Whitesnake, ACDC, Zepplin, Iron Maiden, Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, ... to name but a few.
Blues and soul .. Stevie Ray Vaughan, BB King, Slow Hand Clapton, Gary Moore, Jeff Beck, Albert King, Robert Cray
I also dabble with a bit of Joe Satriani and Steve Vai ... depending on my mood ;o)0 -

If you really feel that way about vulgar rap, go back to the late 80s and tap into NWA and its members: Eazy E, Dr. Dre, Ice Cube. You'll get exactly what you're looking for.
