I just got back into town after being out of town for a month. I've completely ruined everything I had done. I was working out almost every day, eating healthier than ever before, losing inches around my waist, then vacation hit.

Any useful tips on how to regain control, get back into the groove, lose those terrible lbs I've put back on in order to get back to where I was a month ago?

I don't know how much you lost to begin with, but I guess it doesn't really matter. Just remind yourself why you were doing this to begin with. It's a lifelong process that will inevitably make us feel a whole heck of a lot better once we lose that weight. Post a picture of what you looked like with the weight loss compared to now and let it be a motivator to get you back on track! You can do it. I've been slipping up as well, but I just need to get back on track too! You only fail if you quit!

Hey, it happens! Don't be so hard on yourself - probably everyone reading your post can relate and has felt the same thing at one point or another. I know I am fearful of my upcoming vacation for the same reason.

You fell off the bike - get back on! You can do it!

One month--that means you may have gained 5 lbs? That is not bad. The question is: Did you enjoy your vacation!!!! ;)
Now that you are back in reality, just get back on that horse, or exercise bike, etc., and ride those pounds back into oblivion. This is a lifetime situation. You can lose the weight--and will lose it.
In the future (once you have reached your goal weight), do what a friend of mine taught me: When the clothes you are trying to put on are getting tight, immediately put yourself in diet mode until you lose back down to your goal weight. Do not buy stretchy clothes--they allow us to gain weight and not even notice the enlarged waist--that was my problem for 57 years.
Before your next vacation, write yourself a set of suggestions on how to have fun and not gain weight. It will help to see that list each day.
    Hugs! :drinker:

I know exactly how you feel, had to go on a 2 week business trip. However after a week of getting back into your habits you will start to feel better. Don't think about what you gained, think about what you did in the first place to start this healthy lifesyle...and then do it again!! Get up, dust yourself off and know it will be easier and if you were working out then your muscles will jump back to where they were quicker (muscle memory!!).

YOU CAN TURN THIS AROUND! :flowerforyou:

I just had a rough week long vacation. I know I'm up a little, but I also know it is mostly WATER. Track your sodium, keep it as low as you can, and go back to a whole food diet. Nothing processed. I'm doing South Beach to get back on track to stabilize my sugar, shed extra water, and detox a little. If it's not for you, that's ok. Just go back to healthy eating in general. You know what to do. :flowerforyou:
