Weighing yourself vs. measurements

So, I've been logging again for just over a week--and I am so scared to get on the scale. I don't want to feel like a failure. I decided to measure myself on Friday so I could see some progress. But I really don't want to see the number on the scale go up and ruin my motivation. Does anyone else feel like this? Do you prefer weighing yourself or measurements?

I prefer weighing myself simply because it's easier. Step on, read the number, done! Measuring requires more effort. BUT measuring also shows results much better than than the scale does.

Last year I went about six months without losing any weight on the scale, but during that time I lost fat and inches galore, dropping at least a full pants size.

I think it may depend on your size. I now weigh 248 and have only lost seven lbs but haven't seen any change in measurements. Of course I may be loosing inches in areas not being measured.

I prefer measurments. But I have different goals than a lot of people. I am trying to increase my LBM while maintaining/losing BF, so my weight has the potential to go up while my measurments will go down.

I weigh 210. I have a very curvy figure and tend to loose/gain weight really evenly. (which is a awesome, but also super sucky because i'll put on like 10lbs before I notice it!) I think im going to continue with the measurements, and when I see some progress i'll pop on the scale to see if anything has changed. At least then--I can say "well I've lose 2 inches--and only 3 lbs" and still feel good about myself
