Which heart rate monitor watch to go with....

I am thinking of getting a heart rate monitoring watch to help track my calories burned during workouts. I feel like it would be more accurate than entering online...Can anyone suggest one? There seems to be a ton out there.
Thanks for your help!!

Just used my Polar FT4 yesterday and I loved it. It was a gift I bought myself to get motivated to keep the weight off after losing - I wish I had this thing last year - knowing how much you burnt is very motivating!0

I Love my Polar f4. I have been using it for over a year and LOVE it! Makes me want to exercise JUST alittle longer when I see how close I am to the next 100 calories. Check out myheartratemonitor.com they seem to have the best prices and have great sales at every holiday.0

I have a polar FT4! I've had it for about a month and I love it. However I have read so complaints that the strap starts to act up at the one year mark due to washing.0

I also have the Polar 7. Love it! I've been wearing it long enough that I can tell when I'm getting into my upper HR range. I find that the HR reading is pretty accurate with the one that is showing on the machines at the gym but the calorie count is way off so I alway's go with what my HR monitor says since it has all of my personal data to use for the calculations Plus I bought mine at a well known sporting goods store and I was able to return it within 30 day's if I didn't like it.
Even though I can wash the strap I don't think I ever have (or maybe only 1 or 2 times) I usually just get a wet towel and wipe it down good. And I don't bother with that gel they say to use.0 -
I have a Polar FT7. THere are some cheaper ones out there but I love mine.
Whichever model you go with, make sure it has a chest strap and allows you to enter your height, age, weight, and sex to ensure you get a more accurate burn.0 -
I have the Polar FT4 and I'm really happy with it. The treadmills, bikes, etc, at my gym all have monitors so I planned to use it only at home on my Wii, but I wear it any time I work out now.
It's very easy to set up and use, and reasonably priced ($65-$70). The FT7 is a step up but I believe the only additional thing it gives you is the ability to link to Polar's tracker and it stores a bit more info - nether of those was important enough to me to warrant the extra money. I also wear mine swimming and haven't had any problems with it.
