Equipment for P90x and 30-day Shred?

These seem to be the fitness DVD's most often talked about on here. I am considering getting them at some point and using them too. What equipment is required for each of the programs? Are there any equally as effective programs? Which ones? And if so...what extras do they require?

I'm currently doing the 30 day shred and all you need for that are some hand weights (whatever weight is comfortable for you) and a mat if you will be working out on a hard surface. I don't know about P90x.

I do 30 day shred and all you need are some hand weights, and it cost 9.00 dollars for the dvd and whatever you can find the hand weights for . I both at Wal- Mart, the weights were like 10 for both. I have been checking into p90x cuz i have seen before and afet pics but it is too expensive for me. I have done 30 day shred for a month and half and have lost 14 pounds and 2.5 inches off my waist. Hope that helps

I suggest having a lighter and heavier set of hand weights for the Shred. I own a set of 2 lb and 5 lb and it's great being able to switch. When I start a level, I use the 2lb until I figure out which exercises I could handle with 5 lb weights. And then there are some that are hard even with 2 lb ones! It's nice to be able to go back and forth so I can push myself with heavier weights when possible.

i think that you need hand weights and a pull up bar for the P90X. I have the DVD's myself but haven't tried it yet. Next week i may give it a go!!
