Motivation

Hey guys!

Kinda reaching out to you guys because I need help getting motivated to lose weight again. I have gained at least 13 pounds in 2 months and feel like I am on a downward spiral. I feel awful about myself. Any words of wisdom or inspiration would be great.

Susan

Get excited about something. A new healthy food...a new workout... anything. I have been looking up quick videos on youtube and doing things like arm toning workouts just to keep me going... even a few minutes a day :)

Try to get a workout buddy, It can be your brother, sister or a friend or even a co-worker.. I have found that there are days I really rather not work out.... But I really don't want to let the other person down either... So i just go do it. It may not be a full force work out but some is better than none, and usually I am glad afterwards that I did get that workout in... I find it also helpful in the diet area. We both like to try new recipes and if there good we share, Nice variety there also... Keep you head up and don't give up.....

Don't feel bad about yourself. Look, you are here and that means you are serious about getting back in shape. Look at the next two months to lose the weight you have put on. You can do it. Eat healthy and start each day on a positive note. It is certainly harder to lose it than put it on (at least it seems that way to me). But I know I feel much better about myself when I lose it than when I get on the scale and see I have put it back on. Good luck on your journey.

You just have to decide. Whether it's dieting or exercising or whatever occurs in life, decisions have to be made. You have to make that final choice and commit to it.

Set short term goals for now like cutting back some calories and track them daily. Once you get comfortable with that, start exercising (walking at the mall or just a stroll outside). It's hard but your health should always be a priority no matter what.

In the same boat!! Since week before Christmas swimming upstream and hating it. Not sure how to turn it around either. I'm half way exercising and half way watching my intake. I need a boot to my butt, lol.

    Hey Susan,

The good news is, you can right the ship ANYTIME! It is just picking today as the day you will change. It is making today the day you start changing eating habits to make better choices. It is today that you decide to start adding in a mile walk, to sit less, watch less TV, get off the computer, and just move. Then, when you get through today, you do the exact same thing tomorrow....and the next day...and the next day.

It isn't easy. It isn't going to be perfect. You will have days you don't make those choices, and that's normal. The key is to start making the better choices 2 out 3 days. Then 5 out of 7 days a week. Then, start making it 6 out of 7 days a week. Then start making those better choices more and more often.

    You can do it!
