I watched a documentary yesterday titled "Hungry For Change." (If you have Netflix I highly recommend you watch it. It completely changed the way I view food.) It talked mostly about the harmful additives in processed foods and the horrors of white sugar and refined flour. Since I watching it, I have decided that it is crucial to my health to not only limit both processed foods, flour and sugar in my diet, but also to add healthier foods that are doing good things for my body. That being said, I need some imput on ways to make these healthy foods taste good. Some of them are simple, others I have no idea how to incorporate them into my diet. So, here's a list of some healthy food items that I need some recipe ideas for:
lean beef
eggs
beans
tofu
flaxseed
olive oil
broccoli
spinach
tomatoes
carrots
garlic
red peppers
blueberries (which I do not like. Unless they are in muffins :ohwell: )
Thanks!

If you're a Pinterest user, there are so many great recipes you can use all of the above in and they can taste delicious. I highly recommend taking stock first in what you're eating (to see where the easiest changes come - ie replacing white sugar with healthier alternatives such as honey or maple syrup) and then adapting recipes in which you'd use less healthy alternatives to be sneakily healthy!
Do you do your own cooking? I find that preparing my own meals allows me to weigh, chart and eliminate the nasties in my daily life. I throw spinach into everything (frittatas? Yum! Eggs and spinach, peppers, etc in one fell swoop - just don't use heavy cream, as skim milk will suffice) and peppers taste good in nearly any meal (I enjoy them as a snack with hummus quite often!!!)
Since you're at the relative beginning of this journey, I would focus more on finding recipes that appeal to you first, and then slowly implementing specific ingredients as you're comfortable. This should be a fun adventure, NOT a chore :-)0
