Ive been trying to lose weight for awhile now but just now got really serious about it Ive started eating right exercising even got a gym membership which is a big step for me. So anyways I weighted myself two days ago and it said i lost 26 pounds and I was happier then a kid in a candy store! Then the next day I weighted myself again and it was the same it must have been right because i weighted myself multiple time and got the same number. But this morning when I woke up and stepped on the scale out of habit it said i gained 20 pounds! I wanted to know if this is even possible? did i never even lose the weight to start with? Im just so confused and devastated

Sounds like your scale is messed up--it's not possible to gain 20 pounds overnight and that seems outside the range of day-to-day fluctuation. If it has batteries, try replacing them. If not, just throw it out and keep track of your measurements instead.0

Make sure you are weighing yourself in the same spot. A bit of give in the floor can change your weight.0

Your scale is messed up. There have only been 12 days in march, and assuming you just started your weightloss in this month... 26 pounds isn't possible. Get a new scale!0

Thank you guys so much I feel so much more at ease know I cant gain that much weight over night I do weight myself in the same spot every time but I must admit i never thought to change the batteries XP0

My scale did that to me a couple weeks ago, I replaced the batteries and now it is working fine.0

What scales are you using?
I use a Wii Fit balance board and once it said I lost 13lbs in a week but it was actually a lego brick underneath that had offset it lol.0 -
I have found that quick weight loss for me (and I am rather different because I retain water in my legs and arms pretty easily from both salt intake and inability to move--for instance, I recently spent 12 hours on a boat/bus/plane, and puffed up like a sponge . Anyway, quick weight loss is aided by losing a lot of water with the healthier diet. Then, within a few days, my weight will rebound, as my body starts recovering the water loss. After all, water is what we are made of, and being well hydrated is what you want, it makes your skin and hair pretty, combats headaches and muscle fatigue, and is an overall benefit to your body.
What is important is to learn all about nutrition and your own personal health, what makes you feel good, energetic and most alive. Don't weigh too often. Remember, you're beautiful. Weight is a number, but nutrition is forever.0 -

I wouldn't worry so much. There is no way humanly possible that you've gained 20lbs over night. There are roughly 3500 calories per lb. Unless you ate 3500 calories x 20 in one day ( that'd be roughly 70k calories) - you did not put on 20lbs over night
Plus, you should really only weigh yourself in the morning after you do your business to get a consistent reading. Our weigh fluctuations during the day due to fluid/food intake, and a whole other variables.0 -

If you've lost 26 lbs, you would know without stepping on the scale.
That's a significant amount of weight.0 -
As for noticing i did think i looked a bit lighter thats why i decided it was time to step on the scale and see0

I think she looks great! I would like to say THANK YOU to all the Kind Reply's. And as for her noticing the weight loss we have noticed difference here with her body size. We will look into getting a new scale. But I Love the people on here who are Supporting her in her endeavor to better herself. She is just looking for support and encouragement like we all do. And yes we know that's it obvious to see a weight difference and clothes are looser. We are very proud of her. Keep up the good work Chels.0

You'd know if you had lost 26 lb, your pants would be much looser etc. And it seems like a lot in a month. I'm thinking your scale is broken both ways, you might have lost less than that. But every little bit counts! Keep doing what you're doing!0

Change the batteries.0

Don't stress...20Lbs over night, your scale is obviously jacked. Scientifically impossible to put on 20 lbs in a 24 hr period.0

How long did it take you to lose 26 lbs?0
