Paleo worse evils?

I'm a paleo girl, but we all know it's pretty hard to be strict 100% of the time. I've got a few questions on which choice would be the lesser of two evils:
1) Cream or soy? I so far have not found a cafe that serves coffee with coconut milk, and many serve almond but it's too thin for my liking. So which is the healthier paleo-ish option? (my instinct says dairy)
2) Cow dairy or other animal? I'm a big fan of goat cheese. In my head it seems like that would be a lesser evil since it's maybe not AS processed and antibiotic'd up, since it's not as big of an industry as cow products? I don't have it that much, and I know it's ok if I do sometimes, but I'm just wondering. Cow dairy doesn't really bother me when I have it either.
3) Any kind of bean have a better reputation?
I'm more interested in responses from other paleo eaters who have experimented with this stuff or who are super in the know about the science. And please leave judgements out of this thread if you're not a paleo eater--I have experimented with many different approaches to eating, including vegetarianism for many years, and I find nothing gives me more energy than eating grain free. This is not a universal truth, I'm sure, but I'm not interested in responses about how whole grains are healthy. While I'm sure that's true sometimes, it is not true for me. I'm happy to discuss my experience if you are curious, just message me privately.
Thanks folks!

Cream before soy always.
If dairy doesn't bother you and if free of yucky stuff go for it. If you like goat cheese eat it. It'll keep you happy. Happy is good.
I think sprouted or fermented beans are better. But I'm not pos on this. If I had to eat a bean it would be fresh and not dried or processed. Or at least processed as little as possible.0 -

Agree with what Karin posted. A comment on beans/legumes, soak them beforehand and discard the water they were soaked in.0 -
Happy is good. The bean thing is more of an "I don't want to be an A-hole all the time at Mexican restaurants" question  I don't NEED beans.0

No matter which philosophy you buy into, you don't have to literally buy everything. But I, too, prefer goat's milk over cow's.0

The "don't be an a-hole rule" applies above all else! (unless you're doing the whole30!)
I think that generally falls in the 80/20 realm anyway. If you mean like, black vs pinto vs white, I think they are all pretty much the same.0 -
My stomach doesn't like dairy all to much but it can handle a little bit of aged cheese from the market, I just recently started adding cheese into my snacks of double smoked mild sausage (mmmm) and it just adds that extra some thing that you need sometimes. I love putting dark chocolate almond milk my in my coffee. In terms of beans I really only eat pickled green beans, they are absolutely incredible, especially the dill ones.0

I would agree that cream is better than soy so long as it's heavy cream and not creamer. These are not the same things.
Can you get organic cheese? You can buy it in all supermarkets in the UK. I would say an organic cheese would be the best. I have never enjoyed goats cheese so can not really advise on this one.
With regards to beans, they are not Paleo as you know but as long as you feel they don't give you any unwanted side effects, having some black beans every now and again is not going to kill you.
You seem really dedicated to your Paleo journey so it's just a case of deciding if the beans are worth the hassle. Most restaurants accommodate your requests.
I love beans, particularly black beans but they don't always love me and my IBS.0 -
Eat Primal instead of Paleo. Problem solved!
That said, I have gotten used to drinking my coffee black. Once your taste buds adjust it's quite tasty.0 -
I've experimented a lot with coffee. Iced is tolerable black, but I need a little coco milk if it's hot.
I'm fairly dedicated, sure. I also stray a fair amount. I was really just looking for input on what types of straying screw people up most. My body is an ever evolving experiment
Thanks for the input, everyone.0 -

I am not Paleo, but have read many times goat's milk/cheese is much better for you than cow's.
Is coconut milk allowed or almond milk? . Those are good, healthy choices other than cow's milk.0 -
I'd personally choose to have the dairy milk if I could tolerate it ok. I would also eat cheese if I could! Yum, cheese...
Not sure on the beans.
I'm just gonna add that I'm so not into the dietary dogma. I eat paleo/primal and have had great success with it, and am very happy with how I eat and feel now. However, I am not remotely interested in 100% compliance.
We all have to find our own way of working all this stuff out, and we only know ourselves and our own circumstances. Because of that, I try to ignore the self-appointed paleo police and if I want to eat cheese every day at lunch, I do (hypothetically--I can't actually eat cheese regularly). Enjoy that goat's milk cheese, and have a slice for me! :flowerforyou:0 -
Honestly, it depends on how often you're going to eat it. I mean, how often do you have Mexican? if it's once every few months, you could probably eat the beans and not worry about it. But if you're having coffee everyday, then stick to cream, not soy. It all depends on your frequency, IMO.0
