Hi, been on MFP for a while, but didn't come on the forums at all, I decided that the support you guys give is exactly what I need right now, I've hit the place in my life that I FINALLY have the motivation to start, I just need the motivation to carry on! Any tips or advice to keep going?

Just log in every day..post your calories and read the message boards. They help keep you motivated...If you feel like giving up..tell yourself "Just for today I will stay on the diet"...do this every day. it helps.

I really believe you have to be ready and you have to want it for yourself. Ive tried and failed many times in the past because I didnt really want it. Sounds like you are ready so I think the best thing you can do is get a supportive group of friends and if you fall off the wagon dont let it beat you down just start fresh again immediately! I have a pair of jeans that are two sizes two small hanging on my bedroom door so I look at them when I walk out of my bedroom every day. I also am trying pics of bodies that I find inspiring which will hang on the fridge and the pantry door to hopefully motivate myself! Good luck on your journey, I sent you a friend request. If you want we can help motivate each other : )

do it for yourself. I want to keep going because I want to feel better. I want to do outdoor stuff like gardening and play with my dogs without being winded. I am sick of being sick.

baby steps....we didn't gain the weight over night we certainly aren't going to lose it overnight....1 lb = 4 sticks of butter...even dropping .25# is 1 stick of butter off ur tush...take it slow & do this for you.....believe in yourself and you can accomplish anything....
  • I also need to keep on track, and have battles with myself somedays!! It is very hard to do this alone, I have just recently logged back in and would add you as a friend if you would like to motivate one another!! Keep on movin' and enjoy this journey to better health :)
