5:2 troubles...

Hey,
So I'm a 5'3 female and I have around 7-10lbs to lose. I've been attempting the 5:2 diet...however, I'm having real trouble sticking to 500 calories on fast days, averaging around 600-700 calories. If I kept my cals to 1200-1400 on 'feed' days and 600-700 on fast days, would this still be ok? Please no mean comments, I know I sound naive but I'm trying to get to grips with all of this stuff!
Thanks,
Luna

I practice intermittent fasting but not the 5/2. I do one or two 24 hour fasts (dinner to dinner) each week. I figure out how much to eat those days based on weekly calories. If you figure out how many calories you need in a week to lose the amount of weight you want, (ex if you are 'supposed' to eat 500 two days a week and 1600 the other five that's 9000 calories per week) you can subtract from that whatever you use on the '2' days and then divide the rest up amongst the other five. So if instead of 500 you eat 700, you would say 9000-1400=7600/5=1520 per day. [All these numbers are just for example because I'm not sure what yours really are.]
Not sure if that makes sense.0 -

I'd find something that is easy for you to stick with and yes you are most likely in a deficit both days so you're fine0 -
Thank you both for your help, and Christina that does make sense 500 on fast days was/is proving too extreme for me (I'm a hungry person) so I'd just end up overeating long-term.0
