I have a TON of ham I need to use up and need some recipes or ideas for what to do with it. Ham blows me up with all the sodium in it so I'm not sure I want to just keep eating it for leftovers but maybe a soup or something similar would be better...help!!!

Ham sandwich? :flowerforyou:0

you can freeze it also so that you are not eating it all at once, if you have a bone in ham I make Pea soup. I might not eat the stuff but half of the people in the house eat it including a very picky Pekignese who hates peas. Good luck with the ham, try to google recipes for it0

When I make homemade mac n cheese, I cube it and toss it in with the mac n cheese.
Make grilled cheese and put a slice of ham in there
My mother in law makes ham salad
Put it in omelettes0 -
chop it up with some sweet onions and egg whites0
-
Pea soup is my go to.0

Skinnytaste.com has some really good recipies. Of course the traditional beans and ham, navy, black bean, split pea. You can also freeze it in smaller containers to use later.0

Cube it and put it in potato salad with eggs and cheese? My mother makes this for summer family potlucks and we never bring much home.0

My mother used to make ham, rice, broccoli casserole. It was made with Cheez Whiz. I recommend it.0

chop it up really fine, spread it on a cookie sheet, and dry in a slow oven. Then use it like bacon bits as a crunchy salty garnish on salads, soups, sauteed veggies-- whatever. Dried like this is will also freeze very well.0

Toooo many was to have it!!
Curried
With a good salad

Ham omelet anyone?0

If it's that reformed mush stuff in packets from the supermarket;
Feed it to the cat and dog. More the dog, as they can deal with more salt in their diet than the cat.
Or stick it out on a feeder for the birds.0 -
Use it to flavor black beans. I usually use something along those lines with plenty of spicy goodness such as smoked paprika, garlic, onion and a can of Rotel tomatoes... if you can get em... add a chopped chipotle pepper and a tablespoon of the adobo sauce too. (or sub chipotle powder if you cannot find. but you can get just about everything online these days.)0

Oh HELLZ no!!! I guess I should have been more specific...
*Hubby won't eat peas or pea soup or cabbage...
*i'm eating gluten free due to a highly sensitive digestive system
*It's been in the freezer since Christmas (Honey Baked-spiral sliced) and we're moving soon so I want to get rid of stuff we've been holding onto like this.
*I've been nibbling on it for 2 days once I thawed it and I'm getting cancar sores from all the salt & I don't dare step on the scale but I'm pounding water like there's no tomorrow...
I'll have an omelet tomorrow and have some on my salad tonight but then I still have about 1.25 lbs. left not to mention the bone & some meat that I've saved for ham & bean soup stock.0
