Just tried one for the first time and loved it. Would like to purchase one but I would love some good advice on which one to purchase. I had the opportunity to try a precor and now I think I am spoiled by the ease of motion and all the "bells and whistles" it had to offer. What do you think?

It didn't take long for me to "grow out" of using the elliptical at my gym and move onto more challenging cardio like running, stepmill or spin bike. Everyone is different though but I am glad I waited to purchase one because it would just be gathering dust if I did.

I love my spin bike :) Some days ill take it easy and go for a "long" ride (while being stationary) and other times ill challenge myself and crank up the speed and resistance. I suggest taking a spin class to see what its all about and good luck!

I love my elliptical, I guess since it helped me lose 27 pounds the last time. I use a nor**** brand and it gets the job done as far as resistance, incline, calorie counter, stride, fan, and monitoring your heart rate. So you can say it is pretty basic but I would agree with Fit_french, try out a class at your gym is you are enrolled in one. If not, you can always try the ones on display at sports authority (if they let you). It depends on what you are looking for, basic would be more like mines. But if your budget allows it, try getting one where you can plug in your weight, height, age etc. for a very accurate reading :)

It gets a bit boring but you have to try and figure out what works for you. For me, I take about 10 seconds "break" on a five minutes interval. Every week, I change the incline and/or resistance. Aim for at least 30 minutes on it a day (if cardio is your main workout for now), and add extra 5 minutes. I try to aim for an hour on the elliptical. Good luck.
