The 8 "whatever" of water a day is one myth that's even perpetrated on MFP. It has no solid scientific or medical basis. Google it sometime. As long as one's urine is a pale yellow they are sufficiently hydrated. Water (fluid) is contained in everything we eat or drink. Myself, I drink a pot of coffee a day and have for 40 years. Caffeine is a diuretic but it's not enough to offset the enormous amount of water in a cup of coffee.

    Don't sweat the water thing!

    Good luck!

My impression is that it means 250ml glasses (or around 8oz) per day... really hard to do, so I figure as long as I don't feel hungry, dehydrated or tired, Ive had enough (normally 4 glasses, plus i might have a juice or tea but don't count that as a water serving).

A One cup measuring cup is 8 ounces. I usually measure my daily out by my Pint jars for canning. Each jar is 2 cups so I need to drink at least 4 to meet my daily needs.
