I am sure this has been brought up in the past but I am still fairly new so I am going to throw it out there again. On an average I was wondering how many pounds you gain when you are on your menstral cycle. I was told years ago that you will only put on 1-3 pounds at the most but yet month after month I gain so much more than that. Does anyone else?

Heck, your weight can fluctuate up to 5 pounds on any given day as it is due to bloat, fluid retention, etc. much less during that time!

That said, I usually don't gain--if I do it's never more than 1/2 lb.--during that time but I do stall in weight loss every time for about 3-4 days. But then I'll have a big drop right afterwards! So it usually all works out.

My weight goes WAY up when its that time.. Sometimes my scale hits about seven or eight pounds higher than normal. I know it's all water weight and I tend to retain a lot..but still..you hate to see the scale go up.. rest assured it will go down when its over!!

This month I went up 6 pounds that first day of my cycle which was enough to make me want to grab for the chocolate. By the 3rd day it was back to normal though. I guess it all depends on how much water you usually retain. I tend to eat salty stuff around that time and that doesn't help I am sure. Ahhh, to be a woman.

I usually only find that I'm affected that way during day 1 or 2 during my period. I find I go up anywhere from 2-6 pounds on that day. But I go back down very quickly. It's best just not to weigh yourself then, it can really play tricks on you!
