What do you eat for breakfast?

I have been struggling to find a tasty breakfast but one that will also keep me full longer. I have done cereal (which I am so over the sweetness) and now I have tried deli meat on its own and wrapped in a tortilla with cheese. But nothing is exciting my taste buds. I was thinking of a breakfast burrito and making it the night before but not sure what to put in it.

Any suggestions? Ideas?

HA! I logged on today and saw this topic after someone passing by my office says, " you're eating dinner for breakfast?"
I guess, if you see it that way.

    today's breakfast:
1/4 cup of quinoa (cooked in chicken broth)
    1/2 C of egg whites
2 oz of extra lean stew meat
3/4 C of kale sauteed with a tiny bit of EVOO

    I alternate between 2:

A Thomas' Whole Wheat Bagel Thins with 2 tbsp Smucker's All Natural Peanut Butter - 310 calories
1 cup Oikos Vanilla Greek Yogurt with 1/2 cup BJ's Trail Mix - 470 calories

I tend to eat the bagel thin/PB on days I'll get an earlier lunch, but the yogurt on days my lunch will be later because it stays with me longer.

I eat a Natural Peanut butter and jelly sandwich on whole wheat bread with a glass of almond/skim milk. I get the protein I need, but some energy, and a little bit of sweetness! I usually stay full til lunch time!

3 Egg whites- cook in skillet with non-stick spray

Whole grain toast or whole grain English muffin
1 Tablespoon all natural peanut butter

    1) One egg, 2 egg whites, spinach and herbed goat cheese or the laughing cow garlic and herb cheese wedge. (171 cals)

If I don't have eggs I use the egg beaters (114 cals)

    2) Whole wheat english muffin, morning star spicy black bean patty, egg beaters and a slice of pepperjack cheese (340 cals)

I have a small number of breakfasts:
    1. oatmeal with a banana (no sugar)
    2. Poached egg and toast
    3. Toast with cheese / peanut butter (the toast with peanut butter is definitely the most filling for me)

I usually make breakfast my biggest meal of the day. I get hungry really quickly after eating it, but one thing I've found works for me is: 2 eggs over easy and 1 container of greek yogurt. Full of protein, get my sweet fix, and stay full not just in the morning, but it seems like I just crave fewer foods all day.
  • My two alternating breakfasts:
    1) Scrambeled eggs with one whole egg and one egg white (topped with salsa), four slices of turkey bacon, and fresh fruit.
    2) Protein Shake: Orange Julius (orange, OJ, vanilla protein powder, almonds and ice) or ChocoPB (natural peanut butter, unsweetened cocoa, 1% milk, vanilla protein powder, stevia, and ice)

    Good luck!!
