Hello everyone! I am new to this site! My name is Randi!

I don't really understand how the calorie burn calculator works near the top of your homepage. It said I had -9 calories. After I worked out a bit longer and inserted my new numbers it said +1 calorie.

What does the +1 mean? That I know longer need to burn calories today to meet my goal?

As you burn calories, it will add them to your daily totals. So if you were -1, then you went over your daily goal, but since you added in your exercise, you gained extra. You should always eat your earned calories so that you don't go into starvation mode. If that happens, your body will think it's starving and retain anything you eat. Just my opinion, I'm not a professional. Welcome to the site!!!

Welcome Randi! Glad you found MFP. Add me as a friend if you like.

Some members have found that eating back all exercise cals may be a bit too liberal. I personally shoot for one half to three fourths of my exercise cals back.

    Cheers!:flowerforyou:
