try something new - sounds like you could benefit from heavy lifting

maybe try carb cycling as well / or low carb

dont be sad! You will do it

Without knowing your specifics, I would say it sounds like you need to start some strength training. Pick up some heavy things! Don't worry, you won't 'bulk'.

Be more specific. What is your routine and how much weight are you lifting?

I don't normally stick to one. But I have two 8 pound dumbbells that I use a lot.

I do a few sets of like, military presses, squats, lunges, rows, curls, etc etc
Then I go for a run!

If you're doing as much strength training as you claim that you are, then you aren't eating enough. 1200 cals is not conducive to building muscle. You need to bump it up a bit. Do a search in the forums for "In Place of a Roadmap" and go from there!
  • u lift .. what kind of lifting ?? how many reps u doing ??? i would up the weight to pretty much yr max and do fewer reps .

Read this post, you need to focus on losing BF%, to do that you need to eat correctly for your activity, meet your macro's (Protein especially), and lift weights.. You are lifting which is great, now you just need to do the other 2.

8lbs is basically cardio, but its better than nothing. I would get some heavier weights, and maybe up your protein.

  • Don't feel bad, I've lost 93 pounds so far and when I look in the mirror at myself without clothes on I see The Blob looking back at me. I do 45 minutes of strength training 4 times a week and no matter how hard I try I just can't seem to tone up. I've come to the realization that sooner or later I may need some type of cosmetic surgery or else just never be able to take off my shirt in public.

I don't know, the eights do me in well. But I suppose I could borrow heavier weights from my sister- but if i can't I won't be able to access any because I don't have money to spare.

Not enough time and not enough weight. Also, increase protein intake for rebuilding muscle.

This is not weight lifting. This is using muscles but when people say weight lifting they mean HEAVY weights in the weight section of the gym, generally not something you could do at home. Get New Rules of Lifting for Women. It helped me a lot. Still reading the book, and not completing in the program yet, but getting so much new useful info.

    HIIT!!!
Agree! Ditch your runs and alternate lifting with Hiit in your work outs.
