Why are so many people negative to others on here?

I have noticed recently that when someone asks a question that has already been answered a bunch of times, they get snippy and make the person feel like crap. Are we not all on here for a reason? to help and motivate each other? Instead of belittling a person just post a link to the previous discussion on the subject and be nice!:explode:

People are mean. Also, people get misunderstood through text.0

Here we go again.

This question has already been asked (and answered) numerous times.
Sorry, didn't have time to nicely post the link to all previous similar threads.

"Negative"
That word does not mean what you think it means.0 -

No.0 -
I don't know.
Crummy home life I guess.
Personal issues.
Or maybe . . . it just makes me feel like a MAN!0 -
Every thread takes up space. So when some one starts a thread about a topic that has been asked and answered ad nauseum, people tell them. I dont think its snippy, more educational. Just use the search feature. You could have done a search and found all the same answers you are gonna get here.0

You know sadly that's human nature for a lot of people0

It's unfortunately just how these forums are. I stick with my food journal and focus on "real life" friends and family for support.0

Because we're hungry.0

Curious... if something is "human nature," does that not mean it is true of people in general?
How can a term like "human nature" be strategically applied?0 -
Because we're hungry.
*hangry0 -
The internet brings out the jerk in people. Text can be misunderstood, but it can also be a passive-aggressive way of being a jerk and covering yourself to say, "Oh, I didn't mean it like that..."
Best thing to do, skip over jerk comments, just ignore them. Focus on the actual replies that are constructive. It's hard sometimes, but just remember - you can't argue with stupid and you can't make a jerk nice.0 -
ironically this has been said many times and will get snippy comments :laugh:0

I tend to find that this is the scenario that plays out:
OP: I heard <very bad thing> is good for weight loss. I might do it. What does everyone else think?
P1: No, this is bad for you. Here is why.
P2: I agree it is bad for you. Here are peer reviewed studies to prove it is bad for you.
P3: Please don't do this, I don't want you to damage your health.
OP: You're all so mean, don't you realise that when I ask for advice all I want is people to agree with me and give me their blessing.0 -
