2 good sources of self-esteem for women

http://www.mybodygallery.com

The above is a website where you can type in weight, height, size and body-type to see pictures of what REAL, unphotoshopped women look like. You could plug in your own info and take a look at what women similar to your size look like (Body proportions & body fat vary, to some degree).

http://www.007b.com/breast_gallery.php

The above website shows pictures of REAL and NORMAL female breasts. I sure appreciated mine more after seeing the variety! Check the bottom & you see there's about 10 pages of images.

There are many similar sites to this, for men too, if you google "body image, real men/women, gallery" etc. Also try "celebrities without make up " & "celebrities without photoshop."

It's not worth beating yourself up to look like a super fit celebrity or glamorous model. Many of those men & women represent a tiny minority of what real people look like. A model, who is hand picked for looks by talent agents, is sent to a photoshoot where they take 1000+ photos and choose the best ONE out of 1,000. That photo is then Photoshopped to death to remove every pore, line, bulge or dimple. And that is what you see in magazines.

Even paparazzi photos are Photoshopped (readers have caught the mistakes!) as well as actresses in movies can and have admitted to being given digital breasts (Kiera Knightly, for example). These wealthy celebs also have money to have the best personal trainers, personal chefs, nannies for their kids, housemaids & equipment which gives them a HUGE advantage over the rest of us.

I hope this helps some of you out there who are having a hard time accepting what your body is capable of or not capable of. And to see that just because it's not what a VS model or Kim Kardashian looks like, it doesn't mean your body is not attractive!

I LOVE my body gallery. It's helped me figure out what I want my goal weight to be compared to other women who are the same height and similar body shapes.

I wish I could find it but there was also a site that showed unphotoshopped female genitalia. There was an article in a local paper recently that noted an increase in labia reduction surgery which made me feel a little distressed given that it's a surgery that can result in reduced sensitivity. The site I recall showed waxed, unwaxed, large labia, small, uneven, etc, and encouraged the idea that there is no 'perfect' vagina, regardless of what pornographic films show us.

Well, here's hoping that my post doesn't breach the site rules.

Why not just not read fashion/beauty magazines? Also, I seem to see real women all the time, ya know, walking around everywhere.

This is amazing. Thank you so much for posting it. It is nice to see how others of my current weight look and it's nice to see what I could possibly look like when I hit goal. Definitely makes me feel better. Some say my goal is too skinny but I think the women in my range are beautiful and look healthy. Thank you, thank you!
