Can this be right??

So i just had a go at working out my TDEE, and has it goes including the minus 20% its stating 1,710 :/ is that right?
Im at 1200 but do get a little hungry but not a big deal has im not drinking much water anyhow so maybe that could be why.
My stats:

Female.
22 yrs young
5ft1
Now 218 lbs

Should i up my calorie intake or keep it has it is, just to add i have lost 3lb over last 12 days ( big deal for me hehe) on the 1200 sometimes lower, have been struggling for years to drop weight eating maybe little over my TDEE so what is going on, im so confused.
If anyone can shed light id appreciate it much!! Thanks

Congratulations on your weight loss! that is really cool.

Im guessing you probably want to get down to around 125 to 130.

Basically 88 pounds to lose or 308,000 calories.

if you can stay at eating 1700 calories, and burning 400 calories a day, your net will be 1300.

(Anyway, you can get to 1300 anyway you like, as long as you are there at the end of the day. So if you wanna eat 3000 calories, that is fine, but you better be sure to burn off 1700 calories at the gym so you can be down to 1300.)

that means you will have on average throughout your weightloss a 735 calorie deficit per day
308,000/735 = 419 days to get to 125 lbs total weight (what you actually would weigh)

So in about a year and 2 months you can be down to 125 lbs if you can stick to 1700 calories and burn 400 a day (1300 net).

As a side note, if you stick with this, you will notice higher rates of weight loss at first, but than diminishing returns towards the end. I suggest just sticking with that amount (1700) as you will be used to it.

Your TDEE - 20% is 1700 because you are currently overweight. Over time, the lighter you get, the lower your TDEE will eventually get. So you could probably lose just fine on 1700 calories now, but when you are lighter, you'll need to eat less than 1700 to lose weight. It just keeps adjusting down as you lose. But for now, don't be afraid to eat more. No need to starve yourself or rush your weight loss in an unhealthy manner.

As an example of contrast, my maintenance calories (TDEE - 0%) is at 1700. To lose weight I would eat 1360 (TDEE - 20%). But mine is lower than yours because I'm 130 pounds, so my body requires fewer calories to maintain. When you get down to where I am yours will be lower too! :flowerforyou:

Thanks to the both you! It was baffling me slightly has im new to all this you see.
So i can pretty much eat the 1700 if i wished as long has i got enough exercise in to burn 400 of those to begin with and then once a bit more weight loss re assess the TDEE with new weight etc and go from there.
Mmmmm sounds okay to me :)
