New here!

Kind of! I joined awhile back, but I am trying to get serious about it now. It's not about "dieting", it's about making better choices and becoming healthy and strong so I can have energy to keep up with my kids!

I am going to be 39 on Monday, and have 5 kids. They range in age from 20-18 months. My youngest 2 are 15 months apart!

I have about 20-25 lbs to lose.

Anyone want to give me encouragement, advice. etc!? Struggles for me are that I was skinny in high school and ate whatever I wanted. I still do, but obviously don't have the metabolism for it, and I don't make the healthiest choices. I tend to grab sweets instead of fruits or something healthier, and if I eat 3 veggies per week, it's a good week...

Thanks!

Well I'm 19 and never had the metabolism to support my large enjoyment of food, and I'm out to make friends with anybody and am willing to encourage anybody who I can regardless of situation! If you love sweets, go for the "Nature's Harvest sweetened dried Pineapple chunks". They're about too sweet for me, but I love pineapple! Nature's Harvest has a lot of healthier snacks that aren't about sacrificing flavor, you should be able to find them at walmart. Also: apples and bananas. They do wonders!

Ex-sweet fanatic here. I've been around MFP for about a year, and have made tremendous strides in reversing the taste buds. Now, I prefer fruits and veggies waaay more than sweets. (I like to say I'm an almost completely recovered sugar addict.) There are several things you can do to help with the sweet tooth. Feel free to send a friend request, and I'll do what I can to point you in directions that helped me.

However, I do ask that your diary be open so that I can peek at it, and give honest pointers, instead of guessing about what may help. I'm not judgemental about calorie counts. If you prefer to eat low, that's fine. If you need to eat high, that's great too. I do my best to give pointers about the macros you are having trouble with.

I also ask that if you see me heading into dangerous territory for macros I'm watching, PLEASE fell free to apply the 2X4 vigorously!
