recently a friend of mine mentioned that she had been drinking oolong tea and said it is supposed to help aid in weightloss...I usually brew and drink my own green tea every day because I love the taste and get bored with water. I was curious if anyone had more info about oolong tea? I am considering trying it. I tried to research it online but everything I found was from a company or website trying to sell me the stuff so can't really rely on their claims...any unbiased info on it would be much appreciated...thanks

I haven't heard much on that one but someone told me there is a tea called Roobio (sp) that is supposed to be awesome too. I haven't had much of a chance to research it yet. Ill see if I can find anything on either tea.0

Rooibois is sooo good. Oolong is also good. I don't know how it correlates with weight loss for sure but I have heard it does as well.0

I don't know anything about any proposed effects etc... but I have some "monkey-picked oolong tea" from Teavana, and I don't exsctly love the flavor. It's kind of like boiled spinach water. Blegh.0

There are 3 main types of tea green oolong and black the difference being how long the leaves are left to oxidise
Green being the least and black being the most
Both green and oolong have great amounts of antioxidants and therefor are great for health
The theamine in the tea gives your cns a natural lift slower but more effective than drinking coffee
There is a lot of interest in oolong and diet at the moment but I dont think it is necessarily more effective than green iin losing weight
Try phoenix oolong brew at 95% for 4 mins amazing!0 -

Oprah did something on her show about it years ago. Like the acai berry, green coffee bean, etc. it's supposed to make you lose weight. Being a tea drinker, I tried it. It was good. Much tastier than green tea IMO, but not has tasty as my favorite black tea. It had exactly the same affect as green and black tea on my weight, which was none.0

I got some by twillings. It's very good. It's a black tea, the taste is very similar to traditional iced tea you get at resteraunts but it's a tad stronger but not overpowering. I really like it, but I have always been a fan of black tea.0
