I'm new to this site just wondering what meal plans have you found to be helpful? I have no problem exercising, it's my eating habits that keep me from losing. Please help

I used to try and follow a strictly low carb diet, but I excercise way too much for that. I now do a no starch meal plan. My body does not do well with starches like bread, potatos, rice, etc. Basically I eat a ton of veggies, cheeses, lean proteins, nuts, legumes, and small amounts of fruits (they have a lot of carbs and my body can only handle them in limited amounts). I tend to go between a 1200-2300 caloric intake, depending on how much I excercise. I get about 3-4 hours of excercise 3-4 days a week and 1.5-2 hours 2x a week, and then I have a break day. I eat a lot more on my intense excercise days as I try to eat back about 50-70% of my excercise calories. If you want to send me a friend request, you could view my food diary to get a better idea of what I am doing! I hope this helps.

Thanks, that was very helpful. I think I might have the same problem of not being able to eat a lot of starches. I need to focus on eating more veggies. We'll see what happens the next few weeks.

You just need to eat well. That means no fried foods, no processed foods, no processed sugars. And no fast food!!! Fruits, veggies, lean meats like poultry fish and some cuts of pork and beef.

You have to cook now. I think thats where some people fail. They can't cook for themselves and end up getting fast food, or tv diner style meals.

The saying is to shop the outside isles of the store. Fresh fruit, veggies and meat. And plan out your meals ahead of time. You eat better when you decide before hand. When we decide to eat last minute we go for quick and easy which is never healthy. It will get easier as you do it.

It really is not hard. You just have to want to do the work.
