NOW MAYBE I HAVE YOUR ATTENTION??? Since I wasn't getting any responses with the last title to my thread "Should I be at maintenance for now??" So, here's what I posted in my last thread.
I pretty much stopped exercising this past week because the week before, I started experiencing dizziness and headaches during and even hours after exercise. I mean even this week all I have to do is get up and walk or do something small like clean up dishes in the kitchen and it's not so much dizziness since there is no exercise (except for wednesday I tried a little bit) but definitely a headache. I don't go to the Dr. until the last week of march so I've been eating pretty much at my calorie deficit (1570 which I increased from 1440 since last week) and have lost 7 lbs. in a week!! So my concern is with so much weight loss in a week that I am losing muscle mass and if I need to be eating at maintenance or increase my calories a little more so I don't have such rapid weight loss???

Guess not?? I guess it must be perfectly fine to lose this much weight in the past week and that I shouldn't do anything to change it???0

Rapid weight loss the first few weeks is normal actually. Especially if you have started straightening out your diet and eating a more rounded one. Water weight is usually the reason. Eventually the body will naturally slow down.
With the dizziness I have no clue. You could be under hydrated (what color is your pee) to going through caffine with-drawls. I would get seen by your doctor if the headache continues. Also, where are you working out? And how? If it is outside in the heat then you need more than 8 cups of fluid!0 -

It's probably mostly water like another poster said - however, with the symptoms you describe, especially dizziness, I am wondering why you are asking questions on the internet instead of calling your doctor.0 -
Could the dizziness be from low blood sugar? Are you eating frequently, small meals?
I would be worried, as it could indicate a medical problem.
And I have no idea how you lost 7 lbs in a week, but find myself ::slightly:: jealous. Ask yr dr.0 -
Too many variables to make a judgement about a week of weight loss. You could have just dropped a bunch of water weight or any other number of things. Some weeks, I lose less than a pound (or less than a half) and then the next week I easily drop 3 or 4 pounds. If you continue losing weight at that rate, I would say that it would be wise to up your calories to maintenance for a while until you can get in to see a doctor.
As far as the dizzy/lightheaded feeling, this could also be many things. For me, I find that if my protein/fat ratio is not high enough, I tend to be more likely to feel that way. I set my macros to 40/30/30 so I eat about 100 grams of protein a day and around 100 grams of carbs a day. I make my carbs from complex sources (veggies/oatmeal/granola/fruit) and I have found that I feel fine. Some of the days look okay on protein but some are really, really low (I think I saw a day with under 20g of protein). You might want to try to up that on a consistent basis and see if it helps at all.
Really, that is all I can think of. This is better suited for someone who knows your body a lot better than those of us on the internet. If you continue to feel unwell after eating more protein/fats or keep losing too much weight, I would definitely up calories until you can get in to see a doctor.0 -
If you don't like your rate of loss, then eat more. Although you probably lost 7 lbs because you stopped exercising and your muscles released some water weight.
Good luck at the Doctor's - hopefully the dizziness and the weight loss aren't related. I think if I were constantly dizzy I might see someone sooner.0 -
It could be a bunch of different things. It's hard to tell with only a week. If it's impacting you daily, please go to the dr.
I looked at your diary quickly...you need more protein. You don't often meet your protein goal and it's more of a minimum than a maximum.0 -

went and looked at your diary and it looked really fine, except for that day when you skipped lunch and dinner, I bet you were extra dizzy that day, just guessing.
But really, try eating a little bit more and eating small frequent snacks, see if the dizziness improves, and definitely take notes/a diary to go over symptoms when you see your dr.0 -
anemia, low blood sugar, could you be pregnant again, do you have a fever... honestly? something's wrong. if you can't see a doctor until the end of march, then up your calories some and try to get some walking in (in case you are sick). I don't know how overweight you actually are, but if it's very, your calorie intake may simply be insufficient. If you keep getting dizzy even without the exercise, get an emergency appointment with your doctor. please.0

Ahhh...That makes sense. I didn't think of that.0 -

Yeah, I need to find more low calorie ways to eat more protein. I eat yogurt just about every day, also a little cheese and definitely meat. But that sounds like a good idea.0 -

I did call the Dr. Thanks. I won't be seen until march 26th.0 -

Yeah, I don't think I really felt well enough to eat that day. Most days i have no problem eating though.0 -

I've been exercising for 4 months now though...I am working out inside my home and drinking more water is definitely one of the things I am trying to improve on.0 -

My first thought when I was reading your post was that your symptoms sounded like dehydration. The eight cups a day is really a minimum and for every hour of aerobic exercise I'm sure I was once told you should drink a 1 ltr of water. I use an app to remind me to drink and for my weight it recommends three litres per day.
Of course I'm not a medic so as the others suggest if your rapid weight loss continues go and see your doctor. I lost 5lbs this week but then I'd reduced my calorie intake to kick start my weight loss as it had slowed down.
I wouldn't stop exercising completely maybe just reduce the frequency and intensity and listen to your body.0 -

I've had to pretty much stop because even the smallest movements such as walking makes me dizzy and/or gives me a headache. Also, I am continuing to try to increase my water intake.0 -
