Thanks for sharing this! You are such an inspiration. I was a size 22 at age 12 and have got down to a size 14! Your inspiration made me remeber that I can get into those size 8 jeans! Thanks you sooo much! You don't know how much I needed this today!0

GREAT story...
I'm at the point where I'm the way I used to be with my husband...
BUT
I'm still yelling at my kids (the incessant whining just tips me over the edge...)
I can't wait until I get where you are at! You've inspired me! Thank you, a million times over!0 -
Thank you everyone for you words of encouragement, I have loved reading everyone’s posts!:drinker:
***as a side note I told the kids about overhearing their conversation and that I posted it on here. First I received red faces:blushing: and lots of apologies for calling me a “nut bag” :noway: and then they were mortified after actually reading it…I was quickly corrected… ”mother, I never speak like that around adults, why did you have the include the “like’s” and “dude’s”. So for the record both are honor roll students and according to them not the dummies (their words) I portrayed them as. :laugh:0 -
LOL - that's too funny. They didn't come across as "dummies" to me, just kids having a casual conversation. It's nice to know they are honor roll students though - keep up the good work!0

Here’s the thing-HOW could I have become this horribly cranky person and not realize it? Now I’m wondering a few things…While I was doing the little happy dance in the dressing room because I finally fit into a size 10 (started in a 22) were my children doing their own happy dance because I went an entire week without yelling at someone? When I started to become more affectionate toward my husband did he do the happy dance lol?Finally- How did I celebrate the physical changes in my body without realizing I had made even bigger mental ones!0

I can honestly say that story made me cry. You are a very inspiring and very lucky woman to have such a great husband and family.0

I LOVE your story! It really made me think about myself and how things have been. I gained weight before I moved in with my now husband two years ago, then I gained more weight. All the stress of moving away from all my friends to a strange place (plus inner conflict over a previous relationship) PLUS the weight gain just really put me in the crapper. And I realize that it really lasted for about a year and a half (add in a terrible crap job that I couldn't seem to escape) even tho I made attempts to exercise and lose weight. But this past February I got a better job and decided enough was enough. I joined MFP, fixed the way I eat and exercise, and now even tho I still haven't made many friends where I live now, I feel soooo much better about my life! And my husband is the same way - he's always said that I'm beautiful no matter my weight, but he definitely likes the change, physically and mentally.
Hooray for a Real lifestyle change!0 -
Great story, thanks for sharing.0

Thank you for posting it, it's a great story. Your kids seem like fun and you seem like an amazing mother!! don't mind me bumping this as it falls too low on my "my topics" sections, I don't want to lose this!!! Congrats and thank you! :flowerforyou:0

:flowerforyou: Congratulations on the amazing transformation you have made, not only for yourself, but for the lives of your family members! In my short time here, I have seen hints and glimmers of a change on the horizon. But, to hear that you have experienced this life altering change encourages me to stay the course so that I, too, may realize my goals. Thank you for having the courage to share your story. As many others have expressed, I needed this today.0

I don't have enough time at this moment to tell you all the ways this post affected me, but I just wanted to say that this an eye opener for myself. I saw myself in so many ways in your post, and beleive me, it has inspired me to strive harder to be the "old me" again!0

This made me cry and smile at the same time.
Me too, i totally relate to this and also wonder how i didn't realise the different person i had become when i put on the weight. I'm actually crying because i am so thankful that she has gone along with the weight and a happy me - the one i used to be has re-emerged.
Good on you and congrats for having such a wonderful family that are totally supportive of you and your journey :drinker:0 -

Amazing story! Thanks for sharing that with us!0

That's awesome. I would value that as even better than reaching goal weight. It's not about your weight. It's about how you feel about yourself (and how your family feels too!!).
You deserve it.0 -
That is an awesome story. I'm so glad to hear it. You rock!0

Great post! Congratulations on turning your life around. I hope to do the same.0

This made me cry and smile at the same time.
Me, too-- it's beautiful.0 -
Wow...This was the best post. It helps me to remember to look at the big picture. Don't sweat the small stuff and family is everything. Great!!0

What an amazing story... I teared up and laughed at the same time!!
I see a lot of me in this. I am miserable. Last night, I kept saying how much I hated myself. And my husband hates to hear me talk like that, so he gets upset... it's a vicious cycle.
Today, I decided to start the C25K program, my hubby is going to join me, and I read your post, which has totally inspired me!
I need to do this for me, and for my family... thanks so much for sharing!!0 -
I am starting to get some of the same feedback from my family. I have lost 43 pounds so far, and lately my husband follows me around like a puppy. If I'm in the other room, he's like, "where'd she go, where'd she go?" My children are suddenly complimentary (they are all adults) and suddenly I "look younger" and "real fly". Say what? This is instead of "Mom, you don't look quite so large in that other dress." Who are you and what have you done with my family?
(May I also say that I know that my children love me, and they have never intentionally said anything to make me feel bad.)
This is so cool. I am starting to get my body back, as well as my self-esteem. I am sure now that I am going to reach my goal of a 100-lb loss!0 -
How lovely, well done you! :-)0

Great story! I know I will catch myself "dancing" while sitting (aerobics music in my head), and I tend to hum more often - and I haven't lost near as much weight as you. So, exercising and loosing weight (no matter how small the numbers are) has a huge impact on your mental attitude. I am so much happier now than I was 6 months ago.0

Thank you!
I needed to be reminded that I can be the happy and energetic person I once was, and that all this work isn’t just for the physical change but the emotional one too.
Your story renewed the hope I had.0
