Body Media?

My Polar F6 died and while looking into replacing it I found the BodyMedia CORE Weight Management System. It was boasting 90% accuracy which shocked me. I thought all monitors would be 99-100% accurate. I was more shocked that Polar was only 75% accurate. Does anyone use the Body Media and have the good the bad and the ugly?

Your Polar is just for cardio exercise bathe BMF is for all day wear.

I got a BMF after trying and returning a Fitbit One. I feel the numbers it gives me to be above average in accuracy (especially after comparing to the Fitbit.) It is more than just a pedometer (look up the website for details on how it works.) My major exercise is walking, occasionally outside but mostly with Leslie Sansone DVD Walk Away the Pounds. Outside I have compared the numbers with Runtastic and Runkeeper and results have been very close. With the DVD I compared the numbers over a couple of weeks and calories burned, physical activity and steps have remained pretty consistent. I find the sleep function to be interesting--I knew I woke up a lot but was surprised to find out just how often and how little sleep I actually get. Some people feel that having to wear the armband all the time to be a "con". However after a few days I no longer noticed it. It doesn't have to be real snug to work and it doesn't slip. I don't have a problem with redness or irritation which has been reported but the solution seems to be to occasionally move the armband to a slightly different spot--either up or down your arm. I always wear at least short sleeves because I don't like my saggy arms so the armband doesn't show. Having to have a subscription to the website to see the charts and results is also reported as a "con" but I feel it is affordable. I purchased mine from Costco for $119.99 which included 12 month subscription. The normal purchase comes with 3 free months. I have the LINK so it pairs via bluetooth with both my smartphone and my ASUS tablet. It is supposedly not as reliable with some equipment like ellipticals. I hope to get an elliptical so I might get a HRM then. However BMF is supposed to come out with a new monitor that will have/link to an optional HRM later this fall. I hope this helps.

So if i don't have my phone with me it still tracks everything then once i'm in range it pushes all the data to my phone? Thank you all for your responses.

Yes, the Body Media Fit can connect to your phone's Body Media app via Bluetooth. I use it with my iPad, since my phone runs Android, not IOS. I've been wearing my BMFit since November and I really like it. The more you wear it, the more accurate it becomes (more data points = more accuracy).
