Stopping Effexor and Weight Loss

Hi there,

I was wondering if anyone on here had any experiences with stopping Effexor and being about to lose weight. Long story short--three years ago I became a huge runner and began to eat really clean to lose weight after having twins. It sadly became an obsession for me. At my worst--about 10 months ago--I was literally running 10-11 miles a day, eating about 800 calories, and was diagnosed with anorexia. Last April, when I turned 30, I weighed 90 lbs (I am 5'4"). My doctor put me on Effexor for anxiety and I began to see a dietician.

I'm happy to say in I'm so much of a better place now. I am at a healthier weight and BMI, I have such a better emotional connection with my family, I am eating my fear foods again (for the most part--I had completely stopped eating carbs altogether--crazy, I know), However, I have overshot my weight goal the dietician had me by about 10 pounds. I have been focused on eating clean, exercising daily, and adding weight lifiting into my regimine for the last 3-4 months. It seems, though, that I can't drop those 10 lbs by which I have overshot--literally the scale has not moved.

I have stopped taking the Effexor because it's not needed anymore and I hate being on unecessary medication. The withdrawal has been rough but I know it will be so much better when it's gone. I know my body is probably still crazy out of whack with the anorexia recovery, coming off the Effexor, etc, but I was wondering if anyone has had any weight loss once the Effexor is gone. I want to lose it the smart and correct way so I'm not looking for any fast fix. I am just looking for personal experience.

Any input is much appreciated!!

I know someone who slowly stopped Effexor (and you should be doing it slowly). And it took a bit of time for her body to become "normal" but she began to lose weight again.
