Girl Scouts confused???

I'm pretty sure the Girl Scouts are confused about the serving size of their cookies. The box says 7 servings, but I'm pretty sure they are packaged in single serving boxes  My peers agree with me so that must be an accurate assessment. All kidding aside I  most of the Girl Scout cookies but they are indedd single serving boxes for me. Heaven help me if they ever come out with a family sized box.

Lots of things have "weird" serving sizes on them, a can of condensed soup at 274 mL while a "serving" is 125 mL... ok why not just make the can 250 mL so we can "tell at a glance" that it's 2 servings in the can instead of 2.19 servings.
Bag of chips where "10 chips" is a serving at least the "grab" bags are now being marked with the calories for the size the bag is... muffins from your local convenience store don't look "too bad" calorie wise until you see the fine-print that the 300 calories is for half the muffin etc.

I completely agree!! I have no clue what will happen if they do come out with a bigger box. I have to have major self control when its girl scout cookie season

Oh I know... Pack those babies in portioned ziplock bags and freeze them! Girl scout cookies freeze very well and its better not to have them staring at you on the shelf. :-)

If I tried that they would never make it to the ziplock bag.

I disagree... Thin mints clearly have TWO sleeves therefore TWO servings.. One serving before dinner and one serving during TV time at night!

As long as they keep using high-fructose corn syrup, my serving size is zero. Easy for me to pass up.

You know that Keebler makes versions of the Thin Mints and Samoas that are cheaper, with more cookies in the package, and available all year. Right? ;)

I usually follow the serving size for them although I did have 1 cookie a few times this week. But right at this moment I am thinking of ice-cream with 1 cookie. Been wanting choc all day long. lol

I own a brownie (Canadian junior girl guide), so the demon cookies are unescapable.

I take some solace in that I'm not alone. I'm totally on-board with the comment above that a box of Thin Mints contains two servings - one serving equals one sleeve. ;)

Funny, I am leader of a Daisy troop, and the cookie mom. I had over 2000 boxes of cookies in my basement. I am proud to say that I have eaten only 5 individual cookies. They are evil in the most delicious way!

This is the first year I did not buy cookies - we were good for at lest $30 per year. I've seen them in front of 2 stores, smiled sweetly and said "No thank you". That is my will power trick of the week....but I dream of Thin Mints.

I have that issue with chips! I mean, 10 chips...but half of them are crumbled or broken. How do you tell what you ate when you hit the bottom of the bag?!

At work the other day my friend tried to sell me some and I told her I would be tempted to eat too many of them. She tried a hardsell with they have some light mango ones. I told her I'm allergic to mango (true story). Then she laughed and said good because they taste like air freshener smells! I said "hey you just tried to sell them to me!" She said "yeah I've got to move these things!":noway:

My husband plowed through an entire box of the Samoas yesterday after being cornered at the grocery store and buying three boxes. -_- He finally said 'here, you can finish the rest'.

    There was one left.

I quit buying those cookies. Seems like the company that makes them exploits children to me. They are tasty!

My favorites used to be Samoas. Only 12 to a box. Very easy to polish off a box. Not anymore. They changed bakers, if I recall and they have never tasted as good to me. Problem solved. LOL

YES the GS cookies taste so much better when they are frozen especially the thin mints. I just put the whole box in the freezer and that's that and really do forget about them. Than I don't have to bag them up and be tempted  So box in hand open fridge put in freezer close fridge and forget about it.

The bad thing is my niece sells girl scout cookies so we have to buy from her (my son is a cub scout so they buy popcorn from him). The other day I was really low on calories and it was the end of the night so I had a serving of GS cookies and it tasted so good and satisfying that I haven't ate anymore since and I still had calories left over

So if you are really craving them have a serving don't deprive yourself because if you do you will get into them later and eat the whole box, I know

The mango cookies have no mango in them at all.
