I can't find the menu online, but I'm going to a Greek place tonight and don't know what a healthy choice would be that's less than 450 calories. Can anyone help????

you can definitely consider something like a roast chicken or one of their fish options. i would bet that even souvlaki (pork shish kebob) wouldn't be that bad. greek food isn't covered in cheese or cream, so there should definitely be something that you can have :)

Chicken souvlaki...no tzatziki! Have the veggies and a greek salad with feta, but dressing on the side so you can measure out one or two tablespoons. If you have to have the carbs...I say a few greek roast potatoes, not rice...and no bread!!!!!
Enjoy the company you're with, the food will taste wonderful!

Do they have a menu available online to look at? That might make the decision much easier!

    What they said.
  • No menu online. Thet have a tomato broth based muscle soup, but dont know if that is a good choice? I can't find calorie info for that. Argh....it's so much easier to eat at home! LOL!

I would think a broth based soup would be fine. Only 450 cals? Really? Ugh.

Stuffed grape leaves? They'd have olive oil, but that's a healthy fat. And they might have veggie ones that would be even lower cal....
  • I'd say avoid the spanikopita, tasty but reeallly bad for you. I agree with the other posters- The Greek places I've been to usually have a none-breaded chicken, and you could do a salad without the feta/dressing, and drink lots of water!

A little tzatziki wouldn't be too bad - made with greek yogurt and some garlic/cucumber/dill - just go easy on it if you do :) it's all good stuff!! :D

as a greek, i wish i liked greek food more - i wouldn't be so chubby if i did! their diet is rather healthy and lean!
