When do you weigh yourself?

When do you weigh yourself? Also, how often and why do you weigh yourself when you do?
should i record my weight in the morning or evening?
I find when I weigh myself in the evening i am nearly 1 kg heavier! I know this is because of the food/water i have but is that your accurate recording weight??

I usuallyweigh myself first thing in the morning(well, after I pee) on mondays. Ofcourse you'll weigh more in the evening, but if your diet is consistently about the same every day and you always weigh yourself on that evening it shouldnt matter.

Bottom line is always weigh yourself at the same time, not in the morning sometimes and evening sometimes and not on mondays some weeks and fridays other weeks..

well most folks will answer once a week when you wake up use the bathroom and then weigh yourself, but I find for some odd reason I weigh less after Ive been awake and active an hour or so. I always wait until my off days and usually my second off day. I find being up an hour or so then weighing myself I weigh in atleast a lb less than first thing up.
Might just be me but is consistant with me. Unless I gorge I never weigh the same or more that hour later.

    Lol @ the Balloons..

I weigh every night before my shower to see how my body reacts to food and activities.

Just gives me an idea how my body goes about its day.

My weigh in is Saturday mornings.

I weigh myself daily and usually in the evening. I think it just matters that you do it at the same time, whatever time you pick.

I like to weigh in first thing on a Sunday morning before I have anything to eat or drink. I think it's a good day to get weighed as I don't want to gorge myself fri and sat. And if I've had a good weight loss I can reward myself at Sunday dinner with an extra roast potato or a small dessert lol x

I weigh myself before I workout, in my gym clothes, every week. You usually weigh less in the mornings. Main thing is to weigh yourself at the same time about once a week, just stay consistent. Your weight can vary as much a 5lbs a day, mainly due to water. Best answer to your question; once a week in the morning after you have voided.

Saturday mornings before breakfast, although I admit I'm guilty of weighing daily throughout the week because I like to see the fluctuations before/after food/bathroom etc lol.

I do my "official" weigh in that I record on MFP on Friday mornings, after I pee and wearing my underpants and that's all; I usually weigh at least one other time during the week though because I just can't stand not knowing .

Recently I've been doing it daily, in the morning, fully dressed (going to keep the bollock naked weigh in for a bonus at the end) so I can track just how much I fluctuate day in day out. Then I only record a weight when I get the same reading twice. Keeps me going. :)

First thing even Thursday morning to record my weight. In reality it's more often so I can understand how my weight fluctuates. But the one I keep a track of is the regular one once a week.

Me.. I weigh less in a morning, but my official weigh in for MFP is taken from the Thursday evening weigh in I am still doing for slimming world ( still have paid up membership so still going there as well until it runs out I also like the social aspect of it  ) .but calories counting on here. I weigh myself when I come home at either 4:20 or 5:20 depending on shift as soon as come home ( and pee), then its my time to put my feet up and catch up on my programs throughout the week, I have to say it is surprising how much liquid can be expelled from the body in a few hours with your feet up, because when I weigh on my scales before I go to class, I can be anywhere between 0.5 & 2lbs lighter than when I first came home... ( oh and I sometimes feel as though I am tied to the scales jumping on and off them everyday !!!! must stop this :grumble: fluctuations for me are not good as I see a good loss, feel happy then weigh in day I could be up then get miserable )...the right time is different for everyone, pick what is best for you .. happy weighing & weight loss.
  • Once every six weeks. When I did it weekly I got disappointed if I had stuck to my healthy eating plan religiously and not lost any weight. This way I have to stay on the straight and narrow. And its working, have lost nearly 18 lbs since 7 Jan.

At the end of the day, 1kg here or there doesnt make any difference.
  • Everyday, every morning, right after I use the bathroom! :)

I like what Maraslforn1 says about, 1kg not making a difference at the end of the day.

I weigh myself in the morning, post pee. I weigh daily because I like to see the fluctuations but I only track weekly on here. I also measure as my body fat percentage is more important that a number on the scale. Basically as others have said the most important thing is to do it at roughly the same time.

Monday morning after going to the bathroom, in just underwear. But sometimes I hop on throughout the week just to see how I'm doing. But I don't record those.

Just first thing on a Sunday morning, same scales, same location in the bathroom, bare, and after going to the toilet.

never. since my journey started last year (jan 1 2012), i have only weighed myself twice and only because i had to (once at the doctor's office during a physical and another because it was for a form i was filling out). i only go by inches lost since it's a more accurate way to measure progress.

that said, many peope weigh themselves first thing in the AM before breakfast (as soon as they wake up) to get the most accurate number since anything throws off the number

every 1-2 weeks, almost first thing in the morning... however long it takes me to throw on my "weigh-in" clothing and get to my Dr's office. If I had a scale at home, I would pay too much attention to it, but I still need to make sure I am on track. Plus, because I have been consistently losing for so many months, it's kind of fun to build up the anticipation on the way there!

Call me obsessed, but I weigh myself post potty trip right out of bed every day. Then I do it again after my ummm how shall we say, after my second post potty trip that coffee stimulated lol. My hubby hates it because he thinks I set myself up for frustration, however I find it helps me see what I did wrong the day before with water vs sodium. I am post menopausal and on no hormones, so I don't worry about TOM or hormonal fluctuation that can mean scale differences. However, I AM obsessed!!

i weigh myself twice a day at least.
once in the morning after i do my business, then once right before I go to bed. I like to see the daily flux idk why.

I usually record my morning weight, as i feel like thats the truest weigh of the day. but i dont generally record unless its been the same for at least 2 days in a row.

morning, before i eat or drink anything and before a shower with no clothes on. that way there is no extra weight from consumption, water trapped in my hair, or clothing :)
