If you're not familiar with eating low carb I suggest you read up on it. Two sites to check into are http://lowcarbdiets.about.com/ and http://www.ketogenic-diet-resource.com/.

I try to stay around 20 net carbs (carbs minus fiber and sugar alcohols). I have my settings at 5% carbs/25% protein/70% fat. The main gist is don't eat bread, pasta, sugar, wheat flours, starches like rice or potatoes.

Great information thank you! Checked out the site and got some ideas. I'm not as low carb as you but as someone who has diabetes, I always look for lower carb solutions to higher carb meals.

Have any other good links like that? Would you private message them to me?

I agree, read up, but there is a difference in carbs. Wheat is undoubtedly the worst. Some find that if you eat wheat, it makes you hungrier all day. Yet, carbs early in the day, start the fires burning and up the metabolism. Some are cold all day without carbs; individual differences. Then you have to test out the differences for yourself. I find corn, peas, and potatoes allow me weight loss while, rice and wheat are defeating to weight loss.
One meal that works for me is to cut up a small potato or sweet potato, add garlic, onion, pepper, and some other vegetable, artichoke, asparagus, brussel sprouts, or what ever is available into a fry pan on the stove. A bit of oil to begin cooking the garlic and onion, then add water, boullion cube, and a tbsp. corn starch to thinken into gravy. I get this huge bowl of vegetables and eat at any meal. You can add meat or beans for protein.
Sometimes I will spray EVOO on a rice tortilla, toast in toaster oven, then spread the vegetables on top and eat immediately. Odd, but works for me.
