Not New But I Am Being More Responsible.

I'm 21, 5ft4in at 215lbs. Just a week ago I was 220lbs and at the most I'd ever been. I was sick so I was weighed at the doctor's office, so I trusted the scale and decided that I was going to change the way I am. I'm always been the bigger girl. It's a bit genetic from my mother's side, but that's no excuse to me. I sick of hating myself and I'm sick of being too scared to do anything about it. So I've started a strict regime to kick start me into healthy eating and fitness. 1000 calories a day and at minimum 3 2hour runs a week. More is possible depending on work. This sounds like a little but I recorded how I eat without trying and it was just a bit more. Otherwise I binge and that's no good. So if anyone is looking for a supportive friend that's doing an intense regime, I'm your girl. Just send me an add and let's do this!! :flowerforyou:

1000 cals is so low! You should really find that post "in place of a roadmap" and read it, if you want to do things right this time, do yourself a favor and take a look! 1200 is already too low for most women on here; your body is going to freak out.
I wish you the best of luck, but please do some research on your TDEE etc.

if she is anything like me, 1000 cal is NOT too low.
my doctor said that from years of eating only 1 meal a day in high school (coming in between 500-700 cal) that I needed to start out slow. even with my TDEE being higher.
the first time I started he had me do this
month 1: 1000 cal
month 2: 1100 cal
month 3: 1200 cal
month 4-5: 1300 cal
from there he kept close watch on me. he said I could be +/- 50 cal but needed to stay pretty close.
of course after getting used to more food I couldn't control myself on when to stop.0 -
If she's going to be gradually increasing over the months, that's great, but not what she's said. She's only said she's doing 1000 cals; I was offering advice on what she's said she's doing, not what you're doing!0

I was only pointing out that for some people, the standard 1200 doesn't apply. you can't say something is too low without knowing all the facts. I gave myself as an example for a different situation that could or could not be true for her as well.
and why are you so mad? I mean really? I didn't insult you, I didn't tell her to ignore your advice.0
