New to Strength Training

Hello All,

I was just curious about how/where to start with strength training. I have lost 21lbs since I started my journey, mainly be watching my food and walking on a treadmill. I would like to become stronger, but don't really care to be completely Hulked out with muscles (not looking to be a bodybuilder). Any thoughts, tips or suggestions would be appreciated.

    Google Stronglifts 5x5. Its a great place to start and brilliant for building strength. :smile:

    So let me put it this way, lifting weights will be the easiest way to become stronger. You will not "Hulk Out" over night, so you can tailor this to your means. Some people want to keep lifting bigger weights and therefore will add on more muscle. Once you get to a certain level of fitness that you would like, you can just plateau there and maintain instead of trying to lift more.

    Get on the weights and as Lbriggs says Stronglifts 5x5 is great as well as Starting Strength. Stick with one of these plans especially since you're just starting out. If you want to get stronger, be sure to get your protein in daily.
