strawberries and body revolution

Hi,
Can anyone tell me why Jillian Michaels says not to eat strawberries when doing the "body revolution" fitness plan?
I thought that my new addiction to strawberries daily was a good thing! With only about 25 calories in 100g they are a great low cal food.
I know there is sugar in them but she specifically lists strawberries as one of the disallowed foods(and not all sugars) and I am trying to find out what that's all about before I go ahead with the plan.
If anyone knows can you please enlighten me? I really don't want to give up my strawberries! Thanks.

I looked this up on the BR Meal Plan Booklet. On Page 5, Jillian says that soy, peanuts, raw cruciferous vegetables, millet, bamboo shoots, peaches, and strawberries "may have Goitrogenic effects. Goitrogens are substances that suppress the function of the thyroid gland by interfering with iodine uptake, which can, as a result, cause an enlargement of the thyroid."
Here's a helpful article on the subject of goitrogenic foods and thyroid health:

In a nutshell, if your thyroid health is fine, don't worry about it. If your thyroid function is compromised in some way, (hypothyroidism, etc.) you can still eat these foods in moderation (i.e., not every day). The risk goitrogenic effects isn't a big deal. I'm relieved. I love my peanut butter, peaches, and strawberries!0 -
Jillian also does not recommend strawberries unless they are organic because of the pesticides. She recommends thick skinned fruits if not organic. (From her pod casts)0

Thank you for the explanations. Makes more sense now.0
