Danish girl looking for friends

Hi there,
my name is Mai-Britt and I started using myfitnesspal a few weeks ago. After losing my dad a few months ago I decided to change my life and have started working out and eating healthy again.
I do the Insanity workouts in the morning and go to the gym in the evening (2 x kickboxing, 2 x zumba and 1 x boxing a week).
Besides working out I am using myfitnesspal to track my calorie intake and have sworn off potatoes, rice and bread..
I will eventually eat those again, but for right now I am trying to stay away from carbs.
I am looking for a few friends to share my journey with, especially people who can help me stay motivated and who I can turn to when I have questions. I really need some help with my nutrition, I tend to undereat and skip meals.

Welcome Mai-Britt. Having friends on here does make a difference. It is nice to get encouragement and motivation to keep going.
Feel free to friend me0 -
Hey Mai-Britt
Men!
Måske kan vi motivere hinanden :-)

We all need a help and a little push now and then so keep up the good work and I know you can do this0

Thanks for the nice replies.
Deladypilot, you are so right. I am hoping to get encouragement and some motivation from friends on here. Just a few nice words can make a big difference when feeling down.

you came to the right place! i have some Danes in my family and speaking from experience I know how difficult it can sometimes be to turn down some of those delicious Danish delicacies0
-
Haha... I think Danish' are more popular in the US than in Denmark0
-

yeah thats probably true. but not all the accoutrements of a smorgasbord, which we do on all the holidays, the remoulade, the goose at christmas, marzipan...and i can tell you that polser in Denmark are NOT the same as hot dogs in the USPlus im not sure if its a Scandinavian thing or a grandmother thing, but my mormor LOVES to feed people.

Violinkeri: I had my first danish in the US
but it was pretty good. I am not even sure what a danish is here in Denmark. Maybe my fellow danes can help me out with this one.
I also must admit I am a terrible Dane, I just moved to Denmark recently and have lived all over but never in Denmark before (although I am a danish citizen)!!!0 -

Thats crazy! my stepmoms family is from there and when she married my dad we all went over and they got married in Ebeltoft. that was 13 years ago...haha. But i enjoyed it when I was there and i try to keep in touch with some of the cousins and stuff that are over there. Where have you been living that you have been away from DK your whole life??0 -
I lived in Northern Germany, Colorado, New Jersey, Southern Germany and Western Germany (at the Border to Holland). But I did move to Denmark 6 months ago and I am actually not that far away from Ebeltoft. I think it's 100 miles from me, but if you look at it, Denmark is so small, everything is close to where you are at.
I think it is great though that you are keeping in touch with the family. I don't have family in any exciting countries, but I do have friends all over the world that I am always (mis-) using as cheap hotels.. lol0 -
I live in PA, and until the big storm my grandpa lived in Jersey! but i know all about using your friends as hotels--im going to los angeles next week to do just this!
my dads family is from the UK, which really is much the same--you can get almost anywhere in the country in a day just drivingGermany is on my list of places to visit--i havent been yet! ive only done Denmark, England, France, and Mexico.

Los Angeles and Mexico are both on my list of places to visit. But my list is loooonnnggg, next week I am going to Istanbul, I am so excited.0

If you search for "danish" on google you will only see cakes haha0 -
Need an italian touch in this discussion?
:-)
I'm italian, 33 years old, and I don't have anyone in my family living in (or coming from) exotic places.
However, I'd love to add you (all) as friends.here did you live in Southern Germany?
I lived in Munich (next to Munich, actually) for an Erasmus project.0 -
I am 24 and a US midwestern girl currently living in Okinawa Japan. I figured Europe was covered, so let's get some of the East in here ;P
Danish or not, cheese danishes were a favorite of mine. I also used to work in an Austrian themed restaurant that had a lot of European inspired pastries and desserts. Our two top pastry chefs were from Austria and France so it was Strawberry tarts and black forest cake and everything was thick and rich and terrible for you.
Anyone is free to add me for mutual support0 -
Hi
Feel free to add me if you want to, I'm always happy to chat and help when I can. I'm Ginny, French, 25
Good luck xx0 -

Sorry for this late reply. I lived in Würzburg, a couple of hours from Munich, how did you like it there???0 -
Würzburg is a great place. Love to run along the Main between Wurzburg and Randersacker. Friends of mine own the Walfisch Hotel.0
-
Yes, its a beautiful city, but it has probably changed since I moved away 6 years ago. When did you live there??0
-
I never lived there...visit a few times a year for a few weeks. Always enjoy federweiser time...love the Franken wines. :happy:0
