Well folks, its been a while since I've been online but I have (amazingly) lost 27lbs! I've still a little bit to go but I'm starting to get bored of the wait (yes, I know, it takes time...) I had heard about a diet that you can lost 14lbs in a week on and have been trying that for 3 days now and lost a staggering 7lbs - I couldnt believe it! I feel great, healthy and full of energy, although I know it would be dangerous to keep this as a long term weight loss option. I was wondering if you guys had heard of anything like this and what your thoughts are on it? Have you any similar ones that I could try? If you have any advice etc. please feel free to add me, I love hearing about other peoples weight loss journeys! (:

Im interested... What's the diet your doing consist of?
I did a 4 day 10 lbs diet... it was easy and it worked.0 -
That certainly can't be good for you and unfortunately when you stop you will probably gain it all back.possibly more. be careful.0
-
What is the diet? It's hard to comment without knowing the details. The details will explain why you lose that much weight and people can then give their opinion (I expect they will mostly be negative as usually "quick fixes" don't really work, at least not for the long term.0

Don't tell me, no carbs? Or starvation?0
-
That's likely water weight. Losing a pound of fat takes a total of being under 3,500 calories. 7 times that is a lot to be under in three days. That said, if you want to take that water weight and use it to propel you back to a reasonable schedule of eating, you ought to. Take that motivation and start building a healthy life full of sustainable habits!0

Stand back....I'm trying science: 1lb of fat = 3500 cals, 3,500 cals x 14(lbs) = 49000 calories that you must either burn off or starve off, that's 3,500 calories a day you must burn. Not many people are capable of burning that with their basal metabolic requirements. Therefore I'm going to call B.S. on this diet fad, congrat you on your weight loss thus far, and strongly suggest you just keep doing what you have been!0

Day 2 Breakfast Grapefruit, 1 boiled egg
Lunch Roast chicken (any amount) & tomatoes
Dinner Grilled steak and salad
Day 3 Breakfast Grapefruit, 1 boiled egg
Lunch 2 boiled eggs and tomatoes
Dinner 2 Grilled lamb chops, celery & cucumber
Day 4 Breakfast 2 slices dry toast, 2 poached eggs

Day 6 Breakfast 1 boiled egg, 1 glass grapefruit juice
Lunch Fresh fruit (any amount)
Dinner Roast chicken, cabbage, carrots
Day 7 Breakfast 2 scrambled eggs, grilled tomatoes
Lunch 2 Poached eggs& spinach
Dinner Grilled steak & salad
NOTE

It's water weight, based on that diet. Looks pretty low sodium and unprocessed, which is good, but it could be hard to net enough calories so there might be some starvation too, depending on how much you eat of the unlimited items.
Also, if you have a cholesterol problem... that's a lot of eggs!0 -
I know it says no substitute but I've substituted most of the eggs for fruit, surely that amount of eggs is dangerous in terms of cholesterol.0

That sounds horrible. :sad:0

I did think it was a lot of eggs for anyone. As for fruit I gorge on it quite alot and I dont feel hungry through-out the day, I lost alot of water weight at the beginning of the diet and didnt think it was possible to lose that much more?0 -
That's just a low calorie diet, done with food restriction. You can substitute ANY number of foods to equal that calorie amount.0

...that's like one day worth of food.0 -
Honestly, how do you even have energy to swim???0
-
It doesn't sound like the sort of thing I'd like to try. BUT
If it's something you've decided to follow, and even though it says NO SUBSTITUTIONS you've gone ahead and made substituitons.....how will you know which bits of it were working?
I'm going to go with - it's a low calorie diet, and any foods up to that calorie limit would have a similar effect. It's unlikely to be fat that you've lost in such a short space of time.0 -
Omg the toddlers I look after eat more than that, good luck when you go back to normal eating think your going to need it0
-
To be fair I have been having moderate portions of all of these so maybe thats why I've not been hungry, although it is right that actually I dont know what is working and whats not because I havent been sticking by portion sizes. I think I'll go back to my normal diet.
Thanks for your input guys.0 -

I think that is an excellent idea! Best of luck losing the last few pounds, I know what really worked for me was when I started lifting heavy and eating a little more.0 -
Also, if you have a cholesterol problem... that's a lot of eggs!
Eating lots of eggs has nothing to do with blood cholesterol levels, that myth has been debunked, yet it is still perpetuated!
Eggs are fantastic for you, eat them in their complete form!

Also the above mentioned diet is just super low cal, low sodium ---> you are dropping water weight and it is going to bite you in the booty in the long run!0
