..dissappoint me. I feel like I'm eating healthy, but when I come home and log my food in, I become upset. I only have 300 calories left for the day because my salad was almost 500 calories with 20 grams of fat. YIKES.
also, what are some healthy snack ideas? for example, i love quaker chewy bars, but i don't think that they are that good for me.

That would be frustrating!
Are you working out as well? If so, then remember that you get those calories as well. You may have to stick to grilled chicken for dinner with some veggies!!!!
Grab some 100 calorie snack. I have a desk job and they keep me from running to the vending machine!0 -
Yeah, I pretty much live off of chicken and veggies for dinner! I'm not very creative with dinner ideas, so I always end up eating the same thing. I try to not go out for food because I never know what is in things. And I do work out everyday, but I try not to eat those calories.0

I love fiber one bars, but yes they are not that great because of all the sugar. I like reduced fat string cheese. Most brands are around 70 calories. And of course the basics like fruit and vegetables. I like to drizzle olive oil and sprinkle garlic salt on tomatoes, YUM0

Granola bars are good for you and low in calories0

Yeah, my mom eats the string cheese, but I try to stay away from cheese a lot. And that last past sounds good! The olive oil and such. mmm thanks for the snack idea!0

Okay, I wasn't sure if they were really good or not because they taste so yummy. I could live off of granola bars!0

try adding some beans to your diet. Yesterday I made a chili burrito. You can look at my food diary for the ingredients, cook the onions and peppers in the olive oil, once tender add teaspoon of cumin, chile powder and italian seasoning, sprinkle salt and pepper to taste, mix it up and add beans and tomato sauce. Put it on low, covered, for about ten minutes. Stick it in a low carb tortilla with some low fat cheese. YUM and low cal...I've also added chopped up brocolli and zucchini to the mix...basically whatever veggies I have go in there.0 -

I used to be very anti-cheese but if you go with a low fat option it's not too bad. You get the vitamin D and the calcium too which is great for us gals.0 -
for snacks ...I always keep a few hard boiled eggs in a zip lock bag in the fridge that way if I'm hungry I can grab one..I also love 100 calorie packs, snyders pretzels, 100 calorie pack pop corn, rice cakes, low fat string cheese, laughing cow wedges with low fat crackers, baby bell low fat cheese circles, olives, pickles, carrot sticks, tomatoes...Greek yogurt is also a great snack and because it's low in sugar and has on average 15 grams of protien it satisfies my hunger too. Also fat free Cottage cheese with fruit or veggies or just plain.
Good luck to you0 -
KristyO: That sounds so yummy! I'm going to show my mom that, too because she loves stuff like that. Thanks for the idea! And I'll look into the low fat cheese thing. (:
estherguas: I do love eggs, but I always thought they had too much fat in, and I try to keep my fats low. But thank you, and good luck to you, too. (:0
