My Pudgy Tummy won't go away :( Help!!

So I've posted on here a few times about how successful I've been and I have! :) I'm four pounds away from my original goal weight and I'm planning on dropping down five to ten pounds past that for a new goal! (WOOHOO!!) But it seems that my stomach (My biggest problem area) will not go away... I've lost 19 pounds and I feel like it is bigger now than it was before I started losing weight. I've googled all the "belly buster super foods" and actually eat most them as part of my regular food intake. I hate how I still feel/look "fat" because of my stomach :/

Any tips/foods/workouts you guys use to get a flat stomach? Or even a less pudgy stomach?

Walking might help .. do you have a treadmill?

Do as I say and NOT as I do because I have a treadmill and rarely use it yet I have a belly to lose too. :)

Seriously though .. I hear that walking and cutting back on bad fats will help the belly area.

Now I'm off to dust off my treadmill and hang my coat up somewhere else. :) .. good luck!

You gotta burn it off and it will require at least moderately vigorous cardio, mostly. You can burn calories with weights and strength training, but to roll the fat off, you gotta burn it off! I agree with the above: start with walking. Try to keep your pace kind of brisk and do it about 30 minutes. Also watch your alcohol, salt and starch intake because all of those can cause water retention and make digestion a lot slower, which will most likely give you gas and make your stomach puff out more. Congrats on approaching the brink of goal weight! :D You can do it!!

You can't spot reduce fat in specific areas but you could try doing Pilates to strengthen your abs and core which would draw your tummy area in and make it appear flatter.

Also to reduce bloat drink plenty of water and match your sodium levels.

you must work out with resistence and continue a good protein packed diet. It takes awhile but just keep it up, cut down body fat percentage instead of weight and wait.

Everyone here is half right, you need to both burn fat and gain muscle. It won't work on just your stomach but all over (that's what people mean by spot reduce.) To be honest, your proportions might change if you change your diet and exercise regime though, so that's only half true. You juts can't perfectly control it. I have a flabby stomach because I'm not in shape right now, and I'm thin for my height. You can do yoga/pilates/ youtube work out videos and gain muscle but still have fat over it, or you could lose some fat but still have a flabby tummy, if you don't do both. So do both. :)
  • this same thing happened to me and i ate all of the 'flat belly' foods. then i started weight training and eating more and the weightloss stopped.. but the inches started rapidly decreasing.. along with my pudgy tummy :D x

...and then there are some of us that will never completely lose it. I have dropped over 80 pounds and although it is smaller I can see that my love handles will remain long after my three chins have left town. I have accepted that and can live with it (see my profile pic). I will still do my ab workouts to keep the muscles as hard as I can, put my padding is bound to remain. Some of us will never get rid of it completely...that's just the way are but it makes us individuals and I am comfortable with that.
