I did do a search before Posting this, as I know the HRM threads are plentiful.

I won a HRM on Ebay, to save Shipping on their end, they took it out of the box, and sent it to me bare (No instructions or anything!) lol found them online at least!

So, I started checking my HR often, (I have complaints about how this is done but I'll save it for another thread

My heartrate will be at 217 - 230 while just sitting here ... I have a VERY stressful job, so sometimes it goes up to 242 when I'm at m my desk

Then yesterday I was doing my running clinic, like hard hill intervals for 70 minutes, and my HR would be at 236 ... Less than when I was sitting at my desk

Is my hrm busted ? It's automatically set for resting Hr of 70 bpm ... wonder if that has anything to do with anything ?

I mean is it busted because I read other threads where people are working out and Hr is in the 100's!

I would say yes....either that or you REALLY need to see a doctor.

That's definitely not right. The highest my heart rate goes is like 185 when I'm really, really pushing it with cardio... And I'm like 260 pounds for goodness sake!

If it's a polar heart rate monitor, don't forget to wet the back of the chest strap.
    Try tightening it more.
    Or clean it.

That's all I've got to share... Sorry. :(

your max heart rate should be 220 - your age, so the numbers you are reading off are most likely incorrect. I'm thinking that the origin of the HRM may be questionable. Even if you won it I can't imagine them taking it out of the packaging and sending it to you bare. That's very strange...

It was only 9 $ USD ... lol including shipping ... so I guess you get what you pay for ... advertised 'New In box' too ... Mio Shape ... not cheap! I researched retail online, figured I was getting a deal, there are some paint chip scratches etc too

if you purchased it with a credit card you can contest the charge as a scam purchase. Even if it was only a few bucks, I'd do it and then flag the seller with a bad rating to protect other people.

    What they said....^

Paypal has buyer protection program. If you purchased through them, file a claim on the grounds that they falsely advertised the product.

First try to contact the seller. if that doesn't work open a claim on paypal and give feedback on ebay. But yeah, it doesn't sound like it's working right.
