I love high fiber foods, beans, pears, brocolli and so on. They are so filling and good for me but they give me horriable gas! my family HATES me all the time because of it! My stomach bloated and i always weigh more the next day after haveing a meal that contains more fiber, like 2 lbs more. It is so discouraging when im eatting foods that are good for me but the cause me so much trouble. Does anyone else hve this type of problem? does your body get ajusted to high fiber intake and "settle down"? any ideas?

Drink more water. Water helps flush out fiber.

take a beano before eating fibery foods. So there be no gas.

Make sure you're drinking enough water-fiber is a great thing that will keep you regular, but if you consume a lot with not a lot of fluids, it will back you up and make you bloated.

Eating "pro-" and "pre-" -biotic, fermented and "live" foods help some people fight the gas and bloating from too much fiber. Like kimchi, pickles, sauerkraut, kefir, vinegar, yogurt with active cultures (also some coffee, beer, wine, ginger beer, soy sauce, fish sauce, miso, chocolate and cheese).

Thanks for your water ideas but i always drink tons of water. I will usually drink 10-12 bottles of water per day.

    are you masticating enough?

real food needs a lot more chewing (to break down plant fibres) than junk does.
eat slow & chew more. it's worth a try!

I find high fiber foods to be quite useful at croweded parks such as Disney World.

probiotics are good but i'll bet it's a chewing issue.
