oh no!!!
poor baby I know how frustrating it is...you were going to get your thyroid levels checked weren't you...and if so....did you...
I hate those diet pills because I worry what the heck is in them among other things....I mean I know you're totally at your wits end from your post...have you lost inches honey? YOu probably don't have a lot to lose and you're shifting it around maybe....
anyway hugs to you and hope things change soon for you!
thinking of you!!!....and don't go!!! :flowerforyou:

yeah my thyroid is good to go its pretty bad when your doctor scratch's his head and nurse goes and you can see why she is so frustrated..0

borrow someone's hrm. It may just help you find out you may be working too hard.0

Don't give up. Have you tried switching up your work out routine?
I have taken diet pills in the past and it won't really help. It is horrible for your body and it messes with your mind because you don't get the nutrition you need. Then as soon as you quit taking them the weight comes back (and in my case it brought some friends to join the party). Plus you will feel so much better knowing that you did it on your own.0 -
No don't give I know your fed but maybe we can figure this out.
Ok so your exercising.... Are you eating your exercise calories?
How many calories are you on? Is your body feeling satisfied with that amount? If not have you tried to up those calories?
Are you mixing your exercises up? Like not doing the same routine.
Have you tried to mix up your calorie intake each day like for example
Day 1 1200
DAy 2 1500
I know there's a name for it I've heard it really works cause it keeps your metabolism guessing. Some one out there may be able to give you more info about it.
Just don't give and noooo diet pills please.
We will figure this out

:frown:
1) Are you calulating eveything? Milk in coffee, condiments, are you weighing/measuring or eyeballing. These "guessing" cals can add up to 300/400 a day....thats almost a pound a week
2) Are you over estimating your calories burned with exersice?
3) Have you changed up your exersice, our muscles get used to things and burn less efficiant if you don't trick them. 20% harder or faster can help.
4) Are you calculating your daily living activity as too much or too little? Maybe you are more or less sedetary than you think.
5) Try increasing or decreasing your cals for a week, (any less and you wont see a difference), keep the cals at 1200 or more though so your body knows you're still feeding it or it may keep everything you give it.
I always underestimated my cals burned
I started at a sedatary calorie rate and worked my way up to lightly active
I changed up my exersice every other week--from running to walking routines to biking, light to heavy weights to pilates.
I usually stayed at my 1200 but went over once in a while (300-400 cals) just to keep the metabolism interested
I never tried to fool myself I put all of my cals in (not gum pls) but every bite adds up. Some may disagree but I needed that strictness and I lost 1-2 lbs a week and have been on maintenance since December

Hey Beautiful Girl!
DO NOT GIVE UP!
I am right there with you, doing everything right and I also joined in February and did not see the scale move one godforsaken OUNCE until just about a month ago. That was a ****4-month**** plateau that nobody had any answer for (I was eating my exercise calories, working out 5x week burning 750+ calories at each workout, drinking my water, etc etc etc). It was making me CRAZY to work so hard and see NO success. I ended up getting my thyroid checked as well -- nothing. Don't get me wrong, I was glad I had no thyroid issues but annoyed that nobody could give me answers. So it was back to the drawing board.
I still have no idea what eventually worked for me, because I tried so many different scenarios. Maybe that is what worked -- I kept making drastic changes. I've only lost 12lbs so far but that is a HUGE success for me after seeing no success for so long.
I credit my HRM for keeping me on track with what I actually burned.
Also, I'm currently trying "exercise cycling," which was a suggestion of the wonderful MFP-er Marywilldiet, and I know it's working for her as well. This is just basically alternating heavy weeks (I aim for burning 900 cals per day at high intensity workouts) with light weeks (burning about 400 calories doing yoga or walking).
So, something is working. Don't get frustrated. It's SO HARD for those of us who are doing everything right and seeing no changes. Just try something drastic for a few weeks -- you have nothing to lose -- and keep us (me) updated...0 -

Please, whatever you do, don't give up! Even if the change isn't showing up on the scale right now, your body IS in better shape with you treating it so well! The exercise, healthy foods, water (whatever you are doing)...all contribute to good health and it isn't always about the scale.
You just need to keep trying different things, switch things up like people have said. One thing I have learned is that the process of losing weight is not an exact science for everyone. It is all based on each individual and what they are about. Your heigh, weight, age, activity level all contribute to what you should be doing. But even then, sometimes you need to experiment. You are obviously doing all the right things but sometimes it can be tricky....finding the exact right combo for YOU and it can often take trial and error.
I just don't want you to give up and regret it!! You can do this. I know it!

Don't give up!!!
Are you...Firming? Feeling better energy wise? Toning? Eating enough food? I always ate healthy...But come to find out, over the last year I never ate enough and so I was GAINING!!! AHHHHH!!!! I print out my logs for working out and food and look over it with my DH. He and I have had fun working on this together and he's getting back into shape and love it too. He's AF, so totally know the ups and downs of TDY's, deployments, eating, not eating, pressure to be thin...UGGGG!
So anything anyone said help? I liked the HRM idea. I have been grabbing magazines at the stores and actually trying their walking/running/HRM workouts. Keep us updated! Good luck!0 -
Cute picture by the way! All smiles!0

And I know when your husband comes back that he will be happy to be in the arms of his beautiful wife!!! Hang in there, don't give up!!! God bless! :flowerforyou:0

DONT QUIT!!
It's called calorie shifting also. If you pretty much stick to the same amount of calories a day then there is a good possiblity that is why your not losing.........you have to change it up. Up the calories one day and then back down the next. or even take like 2 days totally off "dieting" and eat whatever and then when you get back to it try the calorie shifting thing.0 -
Thank you everyone maybe I will get a HRM I will hit up Walmart tomorrow to see what they have. Yes my husband is very supportive he knows this is really driving me crazy and has said he is very proud of what I have accomplished in changing my body and that he doesn't think I need to lose more but I am so self conscious about my size when I see myself in the mirror I feel like the moo-cow that I once was (thats the nickname my husband and I gave my body lol) I know I won't look like what I did prior to my two kids considering they put my body through the ringer I used to be very muscular and cut with abs (that you could see lol) now its just chunk and stretched out skin I am so miserable I think all I need is a good old fashion tummy tuck and some lipo lol (which I will get soon can't wait) I'm thinkin about doing a juice fast, or something something needs to get me out of this hump. I will check out walmart and see about a HRM
As for my calories burned I actually under estimate them compared to what the machine says or what MFP says-
And yes I count all my calories every last bit (that doesn't help with the fact that I am becoming obsessed)
Thanks for my pic comment-
Thanks again everyone I will keep you all posted0 -
Um...wow...guess I was so adament about you not quitting that I just posted three times! Sorry about that everyone.
Plus, you could easily get away with repeating yourself! ~smiling more~0 -
I'll repeat what is being said, Don't Give Up!
I know it IS VERY FRUSTRATING! I have been stuck on a plateau FOREVER, and I have felt like giving up and giving in many times. But I have to keep reminding myself that even if that darn scale isn't moving, or moving the wrong way, I am still becoming healthier and more fit.
Don't give up!
Make sure you are getting enough nutrition throughout your whole day. Breakfast is key in weight loss, it took me many years to finally realize this and I still struggle to eat breakfast sometimes, but I know that is what my body and metabolism need. You may not be eating and fueling your body enough to let go of weight.
Don't give up!
Snack on veggies and fruit all day long, and carry (and refill) a bottle of water all day long. Fiber and fluids help your system run smoothly which aids in weight loss.
You might try cutting way back on sugar and other "white" starches like white bread, pasta, crackers, etc.
Don't give up!
Keep moving, all day as much as possible. Walk around, stretch, hop around, give your heart and your metabolism several boosts throughout the day, in addition to your exercise.
If your already exercising a lot, try taking a day or two off to relax and refresh. You might even try a couple days off of your diet as well. Tell yourself that you have two free days to destress, relax and enjoy. (But don't let those two "vacation" days turn into 4 or 5)
Don't give up!
Eat healthy and keep exercising, and while you may not be losing weight you will be gaining health!
