Not resorting to food

When you've resorted to food for everything from sorrow, to happiness to boredom for the last 10 years, it becomes a real challenge to fill that void. I would celebrate with icecream, cry with a bar of chocolate to comfort me, and eat away packets of chips just to fill the time. Now, I mentally have to push myself to do something else like take a walk, talk to someone...

What do you all do instead at those moments in life?

When I am down I take the dog for a walk - good to clear my head and some exercise. Whatever the weather. Sometimes a good soaking in the rain does wonders lol

I still celebrate with food, but my choices are better and I make allowances for the odd treat. I like good tasty healthy food and I like feeding people too. I don't think that will change

I agree with others. I still use food at time, but I choose better food choices most days. Sometimes I still celebrate by having something sweet or "bad" but I don't give up. One bad snack or meal won't destroy what I worked for, unless I let it.
