Awhile back I got a protein shake from a local shop and she made me a peanut butter and blueberry shake. Taste like a PB&J. It was so amazing but at 6$ a piece ive opted to try my own. I got chobani this weekend due to the fact it was the cheapest in large quantities and highest in protein. (24g) per serving. I Use Forax pro Protein (vanilla ) and I love it. 30g Protein 1g sugar 2g carb. so my goal is to blend in some PB and ice posssibly 2% milk and see what I can make. Does anyone have tips on how to get the correct consistency?

if you like it milkshake consistency add fat free cottage cheese (weird i know but you cant taste it and it makes it thick)0

Instead of ice I use frozen blueberries or any frozen fruit for that matter. I usually buy extra fruit and freeze some of it.0

I typically use either a half cup of yogurt or half a banana in order to thicken up my protein shakes. Of course, I also don't use peanut butter so I don't know how to make them less thick...0

I always check out this website before buying any protein products - www.pro-proteinshake.com - My personal favourite is the Labrada Lean Body Hi-Protein shake because of the high protein:carb ratio.0

I use kefir instead of Greek yogurt. And I use frozen blueberries and Crazy Richards all-natural peanut butter. YUMMY!0

I like a HUGE and very thick milkshake consistency...
I use at least 200g total frozen fruit (blueberries, strawberries, mangoes, banana, etc) or a mix of fruit and ice, in a powerful blender
Add about 30g whey protein
Any flavourings you want - coffee, PB/peanut flour, extracts, etc
8-10oz liquid - I use 8oz almond milk plus additional water if needed
and about 70g, or two large handfuls, of baby spinach.
The consistency is awesome. I'm telling you. Don't knock it til you try it! And no greek yogurt required
Looks something like this:

I usually add ice and frozen blueberries. That huge spinach protein shake looks awesome. Ive been wanting to try almond milk as well. I will probably try that.0

What could make it even better is to make the yogurt yourself! For details, go check out this thread. http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/1013648-makin-yogurt
I'm going to try making some the next time I go shopping. My only question after reading that thread is how to calculate the nutritional information of what's left after draining the whey to make it Greek Style.0 -
