Maintaining

I have reached my goal. How do I maintain the weight ? Do you have suggestions ?

    Two ways to do this. Go to your home page, then click goals. You can either set your goal by following the "guided" method and select "maintain my current weight". This will increase your daily calorie allowance.

    Or you can custom set your goals and manually select the number of calories. The way I did it was to increase my daily calories by a small amount (100/day) every week using the custom option until I hit the number of calories where I neither lost or gained.

    A little bit of trial & error is required plus accurate logging. The most important thing is..... enjoy your extra calories and well done on reaching your goal.

    I think this is good information. However, is it really that simple?

    I think from a psychology/behaviors standpoint, you deal with things differently at maintenance compared to weight loss. For example, I'll eat the same thing every day at maintenance calories and be fine. But when there's a special occasion I get tripped up. I just avoided certain foods when losing. However, estimating calories when dining out,at a party, having a little sip of wine, I find I'm still in that "clean your plate" mode because my habit is to otherwise serve myself specific portion sizes everyday. Take that structure away, and I flounder.
