I tend to not like healthy foods. I prefer soda over water, Cheez-its over apples, etc. How can I begin to eat more healthily? Thanks for any answers

Cut out the soda. Drink more water - it'll fill you up. For snacks, you can try air popped popcorn or those 35 calorie laughing cow cheese wedges. Eat more complex carbs as well - it provides satiety and feeling of fullness.

Eat goldfish instead? Fewer calories anyway...

Or just eat cheese. That's what I do.

Still a diet pepsi addict, though. I do get stevia sodas when I can, or drink iced tea when I can. You could also try adding a bit of fruit juice to sparkling water if you're really trying to kick the soda.

    Bump!

Green, black, spiced teas sweetened with Truvia or Splenda.... A 12 0z soda is about 150 "empty calories" (calories with no nutritional value, so they don't fill you up and you stay hungry) Try berries, 1-2 oz servings of nuts or seeds. 1 cup of plain Greek yogurt with berries or a little granola or a table spoon of molasses. • Thanks for all the answers! I'm going to try to do this and only drink soda when I go out to eat.

The first time i started really changing the way i eat, someone once told me that once you get over the sugar addiction and the processed food, your taste changes... eventually you learn to enjoy the flavor of the cucumber without craving the dip...

What worked for me to retune my taste buds is detoxing from everything. no booze, no white flour, spices, not seasonings NO sugar (don't get me started on artificial sweeteners), NOTHING FROM A PACKAGE... if it has more than one ingredient, i just don't eat it.
i went from 230 lbs to 165... it was only at the end that i really had to start counting my calories etc.

i have to admit, that through that process, i really did start to enjoy foods at their purest form... fish seasoned with lemon and garlic over sauteed veggies became a go to dinner. It was beautifiul. I'm far from that right now, i still crave ice cream and candy... I'd sell my sould for some chips and i'd LOVE a few glasses of wine.

I'm still in the detox process, but i'm losing a ton of weight. down 15 lbs in the last 3 weeks (because my body hates the weight and craved the nutrients)... i think a big part of it is mental too... you need to tell yourself you like it and you will.

practice makes perfect, best of luck
