Feeling Discouraged

So I am in my Third week and second weigh in. I went to the doctor first week and lost 4 pounds, second week I gained .5 pounds. Just a little frustrated as I am SUPER diligent about my calories, fat intake and carbohydrates. To my family and friends they roll their eyes at .5 pounds but to me, since I am going to the gym and doing the treadmill for the first time in 50 years, it just all seems so frustrating to not see good results. I have shin splints and my calves are killing me. Just looking for some motivation. I am having to start somewhat slow at the gym because I am soooooo out of shape. Just sharing and venting more then anything. Thanks all for listening. I only have a couple friends here on MFP so if you would like to add me, Pleased do.

The best advice I can give is to keep going. Every week is going to be different with weight loss, but if you just keep going, the results will come. Not knowing what your goals are, if you look at the average- that's 2 pounds/weigh in. Putting the weight on took time- and taking it off will too. As long as you keep exercising and mindful of what you are eating (and how much and when) will move you in the right direction! Love to have you as a friend to help motivate you and me at the same time. I always do better myself when I'm helping others.
  • Awww, thanks so much. Yes, I am trying to look at the overall picture. LOL - No Fads, no gimmicks. I was proud of myself for being able to do the treadmill for 30 minutes on a level 5. hahaha. Silly to others but most certainly I felt the pain - so not so silly to me. Looks like you are doing great as well. :-)
