Quitting Shakeology

Okay so long story short I signed up for Shakeology (a friend was doing it as well)
With signing up I also began to do Insanity, the goal was some weight loss. I ended up losing the near 20 pounds I wanted in only one short month. I have nothing against the shakes, but they are very pricey and difficult for me to afford. If I come off these shakes, but continue to eat healthy will I put some weight back on? Does anyone have any reviews/experience coming off a health shake like this. I'd love some feedback.
My current weight is 177
My meals typically go as follows:
Breakfast - Shakeology
Lunch - Spinach salad with fruits and nuts
Dinner - whatever I feel like cooking (usually a vegetarian meal with my girlfriend consisting of soy/tofu/wheat products and vegetables.)
As I said above I also do Insanity six times a week.
Any advice/experience would be great!

Just buy a tub of whey protein and replace the Shakeology shake with that.
Well I mean Shakeology does have a lot more than protein in it.0 -

Those shakes have calories, so if you stop consuming them you'll be consuming fewer calories, which can lead to weight loss.......0

No it doesn't. Chocolate Shakelogy has 17 gms of protein per 160 calories. 1 scoop of Chocolate EAS Whey Protein has 23 gms of protein per 130 calories.
What I'm saying is it has more THAN just protein in it. Not that it has more protein than other shakes.0 -
If you really NEED the extra protein, buy another whey mix and take a multi-vitamin.
Really, if you pay attention you can get all you need from food - for a lot less $$$.0 -

And, your weight is controlled by your intake of calories. Stick with maintenance calories or below and you'll be fine.0

Yeah 2nd shipment is on the way. Think I'm going to cancel after this and just stick to a good diet and multivitamin.0 -
Figure out how many calories your shake is and replace it with that much real food. Simple. 2 eggs is 140 calories for your protein.0

Try Vitacost Walker's Diet Meal Replacement Protein Powder lots of good vitamins in it, it tastes good, mixes good, is a good meal replacement drink, and not costly.

You should consider dumping the soy and tofu because processing takes the goodness out of soy. Also be aware that alot of those products contain genetically modified soy. Avoid whole wheat breads and pastas and eat whole grains instead. I am taking Visalis Vi-Shape in the mornings but when it is done I am going back to a whey isolate product that can be bought at Costco or Sam's Club for a decent price.0

But since everything is in prop blends, you don't know how much of everything is in Shakeology. If one were to look at the number of ingredients and the weight of the prop blend, you can surmise it's little more than a sprinkle for most of the 70 super ingredients0 -

Okay. Buy some protein powder and a decent multi-vitamin then. You're still coming out on top, price wise.0 -
Shakeology comes out to about 3 bucks a serving if you become a coach. You can definitely get a good whey protein that comes out to about $1-$1.50 per serving. Shakeology does have a superior micro nutrient profile, but only you can decide whether you can afford the extra $2 or so per serving.
Personally, I think shakeology+almond milk+banana+1TBS of PB is the best shake I've ever had, and I've been drinking them since the mid 90s.
If I were on a tighter budget though, I would look at Jay Robb's whey protein or a reputable company like EAS, Champion Nutrition, Labrada, etc.0 -

it does have much more than just protein - tons of vitamins and minerals and extra nutrients besides just protein - HOWEVER
OP, no, coming off Shakeology won't hurt you one bit. Just make sure you keep hitting your macros and eating good food.0 -

Concur. I did shakeology for a couple of months & I didn't notice any difference when I came to my senses. Er... I mean when I stopped using Shakeology.0 -
Honestly, without looking at specifics, according to what I see here, it appears you are taking in approximately... 170 cals @ breakfast.. Maybe 400 cals @ lunch and not much more at dinner... It appears to me that your weight loss has come from a marked calorie deficit. Losing 20 lbs in a month is likely to include a higher than normal loss of lean body mass... ESPECIALLY if you are doing insanity on top of that... This all being said, you can continue to lose weight without the shakes... just replace them with something... Some type of protein source would be optimum... Best wishes on your continued success....0
-
Just buy a cheaper shake if you're worried, if it's about the same calories it shouldn't be a problem.0
-
$3 per serving? See, a $300 restaurant bill doesn't phase me, but $3 for what is essentially a multivitamin and some protein?
Damn.0 -
I use the Visalis Vi shakes in the mornings for breakfast. Might be a good idea to replace that with my Protein Whey. I might give that a try. The Visalis Vi is hard to get a hold of.0

I've been drinking Shakeology for over 4 years now and would not think of stopping... there are huge difference in WHEY protein.... plus over 70 superfood ingredients.... and if you're doing INSANTIY 6 days a week YOU NEED SHAKEOLOGY..... Everyone has an opionion,,, you have to decide whats worth it to you.... i'm never sick, i'm never tired, i workout 6-7 times a week, etc... i'm 53 years old,,,, so do what you think is right but in my book, nothing out there compares. I know Darin Olien, the creator of Shakeology, I know he goes ALL OVER THE WORLD to find all the best, pure ingredients. Just remember, there are differences in ingredients.... cattle are given whey protein and its not the kind Shakeology uses if you know what I mean. So I wish you continued health ... in my opinion "why would anyone STOP using Shakeology"0

or they decided they couldn't afford it - as with my case. if i had unlimited funds hell yes I'd be drinking it still.0 -
I agree, if you feel the need for it, get a whey protein powder and a multivitamin.
I love shakeology but don't drink it every day. I'm guessing in a couple months I'll have to cancel the auto refill or I'm going to have too many in the closet.0
